Yellow-ish scrappy four patch, which is quite therapeutic. I started under the guise of cleaning up my sewing room by addressing my scrap situation. I'm not sure this is helping with that. #scrapquilt#fourpatch#fourpatchquilt
Here’s my finished piece for the @artistsagainstinjustice auction! Please check them out and the other artists participating, it’s such a good cause and if you are able to participate or hold an auction of your own, please do so! ALL proceeds from my auction will be donated to @raicestexas and I will cover shipping within the US. International shipping available for 10 dollars. This is a hand sewn, quilted zipper pouch, about 9” x 6”. Bidding will take place from July 1-July 7. I will post a new post for bidding on July 1.
Woven #pillowcase finished! Made from #vintage#biastape woven and fused to lightweight interfacing. I then quilted it along the warp with matching thread, which made it shrink a whole inch in width!
The back is also quilted using #fabric I have had for YEARS. All the batting was pieced offcuts from other quilts. If I felt so inclined to add seam tape/binding on the inside it would be fully reversible, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort.
I am IN LOVE. Honestly this is one of the best things I've made in forever. I now want to WEAVE ALL THE THINGS. And even though I said I wouldn't, I totally bought a bolt of interfacing son that I can keep going with this technique. I have bias tape maker things already so I'm all set to get weaving some #scraps!
I love hand stitching down binding. There is something relaxing about rolling binding and whip stitches. I also love that it is the final step before a quilt gets washed (and oh so crinkled) and used! I've never understood why some quilters have stacks to be bound
Before there was polyester...a scrappy string star with a string pieced background made entirely of rayon circa 1930s. I think this one is so cool and it has such a great graphic effect! I can’t wait to get a full photo of this one to share #quilting#vintagequilt#scrapquilt#improvpatchwork
Rewatching Orange Is The New Black, sippin on rosé, and scrapping #improvquilt#WIP
I decided to put together my string quilt top...I think it needs to be bigger, but don’t quite have enough strips to go around. I’m toying with the idea of using what I have and filling in with the gray, but I still have strings in the box so could easily complete the length needed to go around... #scrapquilt#scrappymakesmehappy#quilttop#stringquilt
