Happy Birthday Robin Williams. You made the world laugh and love and sometimes cry.
You shared a fascinating connection with everyone. I am grateful to have had a tiny spark from your bright soul of light grace my life.
In 2012 I had been called to do a show in at the Throckmorton. I walked into the production office, which at that moment was a hotel room (typical start) with the line producer working on her cell phone and laptop. I was under the impression I was hired to be an assistant (even though I had more experience already). The Line Producer was on her phone and gestured me to sit. I listened in to her convo - what I like to call “ear hustling” (I’m coining that phrase officially now) so, I ear hustle the conversation and after properly introducing myself when she gets off the phone my big mouth started advising how to coordinate the show. She asked me my “position” I told her “assistant” and she immediately said “Fuck no you are a production coordinator and that’s what I am making you”. So my first official Production Coordinator position was with Robin Williams as our surprise guest headliner, on a tv series called “Set List: Stand Up Without A Net”. A great time with amazing comedians and a truly fun show to be apart of. Thankful for this experience and my chance to connect to great Kings of Comedy.
