While my India fabric is waiting for some project ideas to marinate, I couldn’t resist snipping a few small pieces to use in a threadcatcher I noticed in @mtweedel’s feed last week. Now whenever I clip a thread, I’ll be reminded of my wonderful trip! Thanks to @thesewingchick for the fun and clearly written tutorial she shares on her blog. Using cotton duck as a foundation is genius! (The perfect lining is an early @alisonglass fabric ~ the value of a deep stash!) #quiltersofinstagram#threadcatcher#sewingchickthreadcatcher#freetutorial
I've had a ton of fun this weekend just being in my studio and sewing little things. I've tried a few different patterns for storage buckets and boxes. This one is my favourite, a labour of love with the piecing and quilting but so cute. I added the ties so I can attach it to my drawer and put my threads in it. Used up some @amybutlerdesign scraps and some recycled denim. Pattern by @thesewingchick#sewing#sewingroom#studio#sewingmachine#handmade
I needed a couple of quick projects and really wanted to sew something in The Good Life (I this line!) so I made a @noodlehead531 Divided Basket and a @thesewingchick Thread Catcher. Both such fun projects, perfect for getting some of my sewjo back!
Fabric is Bonnie and Camille The Good Life and Moda Cross Weave in Black
It warms my heart to see all the #sewingchickthreadcatcher baskets being made for Christmas gifts, but this lovely stack by @kathylooi55 takes the cake!! She used coveted fabrics from @frenchgeneral The tutorial is on my blog (link to blog is in my profile, click the tutorials tab).
Anyone else struggle like me to limit technology, especially mobile phone, use in the home with teenagers, husbands & even myself at times?! So I've made a little basket for everyone to pop their phone in for dinner & social times & at nighttime...even if helps just a little...plus it's pretty!! Pattern adapted from thread catcher pattern @thesewingchick#sewingchickthreadcatcher
#makerstoteswap waiting for my zips & soft & stable to arrive so I made a little extra for my partner, oops I made two so I might have to keep one...started out with the idea of a thread catcher with pincushion but this little basket is not so little!! Loving some of these fabrics which would not be my usual picks! #sewingchickthreadcatcher
