Another day, another tragedy,
Mice and men alike.
A fury meant for lover’s spite,
Unleashed upon a village night.
We may plea, but too will she,
Transforming love to misery.
A looming fear, intent unclear,
Shall dance a jig upon his ear.
The bird shoots the cat,
Oh my, the irony of that.
