Flying bikes, drinking fish and riding beers, season has officially started. Build a new berm in the morning, fish the afternoon, and evening at the portable tiki bar down @highcountryvt . Not a bad Monday.
Well its definitely spring here in southern vermont. Was a pretty awesome day to be out on the snow with @j__knox and @therealpaulhirschorn . Its getting a bit patchy... might be able to get one more day in. If we are lucky. On to drinking fish, riding beers, and flying bikes. Or something like that
I think it's safe to say that we will have snow up high for a little while longer. Just for reference I am about 5'7" depending on the time of day. Saturday should be a nice little sesh.
Thanks for the photo @j__knox
I can not really remember the last time I was able to go out and do a few splitboard laps in the month of May. This season has been one for the books and this was the perfect way to spend may 1st. Thanks for the company @j__knox
Water is still pretty cold out on the main river and the fish aren't very active but I have never seen this much insect activity with the amount of snow we have on the ground. We really need a few days of temps in 60's and for the snow runoff to slow up, but it is always better to be outside than in. At least I have some time to tie up a bunch of silly shit.
This time of year is so confusing. Do I go splitboarding... Do I go fishing... So I guess #splitfishflyfishing is a thing this spring. Snow was a little slow and the fishing was even slower but it was awesome to be out this late in the season on the split with so much snow.
Splitboard season isn't over but we have a few nights that aren't going to go below freezing and that means the fish are going to be way more active. It's almost time for #flyingbikes#drinkingfish and #ridingbeer
So today was day 100 in the #vtbc . Not like i take care about numbers, but its still pretty amazing that you can get that many days out on the splitboard in southern vermont. Thanks to some of the people that have come out with me over the season. O and mother nature is drunk and needs an uber to go home. Pow this late in April is just #naughty .
Thanks for the pic @j__knox
Today was just nuts. 42" on top of the 18" we already got. There is almost to much snow in the BC to splitboard. Did one splitboard lap and basically made no turns coming down, so just went out ripping on the sled. Snow really needs to compact down some so you can actually make turns.
Today was #day60 on the split. Late afternoon corn was the special of the day.
This season hasn't been bad and it hasn't been spectacular but there has been enough snow to go make turns when I want to.
It's been a strange season weather wise.
One of the many beautiful views you can experience at Mt. Rainier National Park! This photo was taken by @mat_taylor_photography this summer when the northern lights were dancing in the skies above! .
Be sure to think of us for your winter and summer rental needs! .
We got just enough snow from this last storm to go hit some nice mellow hardwoods. The forecasted high of the mid 60's on Wednesday is not going to do nice things to our snowpack but at least I got two solid days out touring.
Finally made it over to the other side of the valley. It was defiantly all about the up and beer today. Set a skin track in two different zones so I won't have to try when we a get a few inches over ice. #pleaseletitsnow
Today was a beautiful day on Mt. Rainier! I love being the last person down! It's pure bliss riding in the twilight racing the darkness encroaching in!
