The gyro, typically accredited to the Greeks, dates back to the Ottoman Empire, when some genius decided to stack meat and cook it over the rotisserie. It was the Greeks who added tzatziki, and sometimes french fries, and rolled it into a pita (NOW who’s the genius??) and called it a gyro. *** Free range organic chicken meatballs, traditionally seasoned with cumin, nutmeg, parsley, oregano, garlic and lemon with red cabbage and carrot, topped with homemade coconut milk Tzatziki wrapped in a collard green served with tomato, onion, olive and cucumber salad with from-scratch herbed balsamic vinaigrette.
