I have small legs but I guess as long as they work over 4 plate #squats , and #deadlifts I'm okay with the athleticism and how much stronger on a casual cut. Squat is the ultimate exercise and also my favorite. When you squat you can either do high-bar squats or low-bar squats!

In bodybuilding it’s often more high-bar squats and in weightlifting it’s different depending on how your body is built.
I have always used high-bar (like the picture). But I have noticed after gaining a lot of strength and started using heavier weights I feel mostly back pain every set. It can of course be a lot of things.
But my friends told me to try low-bar and I notice actually a big difference, I don’t get as much back pain and it actually feels more straight and natural for me doing low-bar.

I will post a video showing the difference in the two later, try yourself and see what suits you the best.
But if you gonna do low-bar, wear wristbands because it’s gonna hurt your wrists.

Kvällens repsPB och efterföljande fail i böj. Toppset 2x5x115kg. Klarade första, failade på fjärde reppen på andra. Tror det var mycket huvud som ställde till det. Rädd för vikten pga aldrig gjort femmor på den och nervös inför resten av schemat. Dessutom dålig sömn och första jobbdagen efter semestern. Och all annan skit som gnager. El día de hoy veremos cómo implementar la autorregulación en nuestros entrenamientos, para ello iniciaremos con una pequeña introducción a las herramientas prácticas que veremos la próxima semana😱, sin embargo hoy tocaremos un punto muy importante y una pequeña pero útil herramienta que puedes comenzar a implementar desde hoy🙄, de modo que poco a poco vayas (como se mencionó anteriormente en otros post🤓) tomando experiencia y capacitándote para poder implementar la autorregulación en tus entrenamientos💪🏻, esta herramienta es el carácter de esfuerzo🍃

I haven’t noticed any major loss in strength and feel more focused. -

Yesterday I made the decision to stop tracking macros completely. I move out for college in 19 DAYS and I still have x amount of months before I can even workout again, & I’ve realized that tracking every bite I eat really is not my priority right now. I still plan on eating whole foods like lean protein/egg whites, oats/rice/whole grains, and healthy fats most of the time, but I’m sure as hell not going to turn down ice cream and drinks with my friends on the weekends. My initial thoughts when I got injured were that I was just going to be extra strict with my eating so that I didn’t gain fat while I’m recovering, but I had a major reality check a few days ago. I realized that 10, 20, 50 years from now I’m not going to look back at my college experience and think “wow, I remember how I hit my macros perfectly every day and my stomach was so flat!!” I’m going to remember the people I met, the crazy stories and fun experiences. Yes, I am still so passionate about fitness and I have goals for myself once my joints are healed and I’m able to workout again. But I’m in no rush to get there and it would be silly to waste my first year of college holding myself back from the best memories because I’m too concerned with having a “good body” and gaining a lil fluff ☃️✌🏽

I decided to go off my old 1RM of 210kg from when I weighed 6kg heavier than what I am now. 😟😞🙁

3 reps at 178kg seemed like a good idea at the time 🤓🤓🤓

Did the first three rounds and the form was quite worrying, the rounded back was to be expected I suppose ! 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Then for the purpose of health and safety I dropped it back down to the actual 85% of 170kg for the last couple of rounds!! 😇😇😇

I got a lot of comments about my Goblet squat Personal Best yesterday in IG stories and the common message was “I don’t think I’m lifting hard enough”. And to be honest, you’re probably not. If you’re thinking that. 🤔 SO.... How do you know if you’re lifting hard enough.

First, lifting hard enough does always have be SUPER heavy weight. You can make a 10 lb dumbbell feel just as heavy as a 50 pound dumbbell. Hard enough = with intensity. Food form but tough. And that can be the feeling of muscles on fire or that could be struggling to move.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR LIFTING HARD ENOUGH...
1. If I made you do 3 more reps at the end of your set, could you? Would they be very difficult, to the point of making faces and your muscles burning from activation? Then you’re pretty close.
2. When you’re done with your set, do you think hm, that’s it? You should probably add more intensity. More reps, more weight, slower tempo, or all of thee above.
3. Do you ever smile thinking, “holy crap, I just lifted that?” Then 👊🏼 good job because that’s when lifting is fun and it’s no longer a chore but a challenge to better yourself and you should keep that up!

wellllll, hello there ;) LOL!

I find myself being discouraged to go to the gym at times... 💔 i am a victim of body dysmorphia and there are mirrors EVERYWHERE at the gym and looking at that reflection can make me feel discouraged. 😩 sometimes i just want to quit, even after how far i’ve come. •
I have to remind myself to stay positive and to push through! 💪🏼 so I say many, MANY prayers asking for help to remain motivated, reassured, and focused on my goals. 🙏🏼

Remember‼️ You are suppose to be your number 1 fan! Be the voice of reason, rather than letting the negativity take over your thoughts.
Speak gently to yourself because that’s what God would do! You got this!
