Sometimes its so daunting. Im still fairly new to the whole training thing, and i look at videos on instagram and facebook of super strong and fit women and i think, i love your mental and physical strength, i want to radiate that empowering glow, but i just dont know how these thunder thighs could ever do 36 burpees followed by anything else at all, AND i i could NEVER do them with the ease that you so often see BUT i dont want this ‘fear’ to be my downfall! Sometimes the greatest challenge is simply rising to the challenge. Women are all powerful in different ways, we come in different shapes and fit certainly does not only come in one shape. powerful thunder thighs are just as rewarding as powerful slim toned legs.
It is SO important to celebrate what we have, what we have achieved and how we change on these journeys regardless of what other people think or say! In a way i think the type of image i am trying to portray here is one where i can look back and say i didnt let anyone tell me what was beautiful, i am strong, i will raise daughters who will radiate self love too and wont know a worry about thigh gaps or that their bum is too small.
Getting fit for me is self care and self love and im so excited for that to grow with me. So come along with me, as i document the evolution of my body mind and soul, in complete reality, through all of its ups downs and all arounds.
Next time i see a program of 12 x 3 burpees, ill do them.
