So here's the sitch. I suck at yoga, really badly. Because it involves stretching and I'm just not a bendy person... And that reminda me of being the embarrassingly inflexible girl on ballet class reaching for my knees while everyone else folded themselves in half and rested their heads on the floor...
So I'm doing it! Because what does it matter, really, if I'm crap at yoga? It doesn't matter. But it does make me feel better after a day of 6hours in the car like today AND it shows me that I'm less nasty to myself than I once was because I'm giving it a go.

2h yoga at a new place, lovely but super hard to be still in a room full of people when you're feeling so heavy and sad. If it weren't for work or Luna I wouldn't left the bed today.

Hahahah and I just died. This is my life in a nut shell right now. From now till the February of 2018 I'm booked and excited for the opportunities that are developing. Tomorrow has the possibility to be legendary and I can't wait. 2018.... 2 inversion workshops that I'm teaching BOOOKED, leading two awesome yoga classes at community/fundraiser events BOOKED, and rolling out something amazing on Pearl St (Boulder) in February of 2018! I use this stretch because I never really get too much of a pull on the groin from the usual standing side stretch.

To get into this position it is best to start in the normal hamstring stretch, knee down, foot out in-front. From here move the knee to face perpendicular to the straight leg. Turn your upper body to face the opposite direction, and slowly bring you hips backwards and up, tilting them in towards the ground to increase the tension. Keep the foot of the straight leg pointing up.

To increase the stretch move the kneeling leg further apart while turning more away. Depending on the area you want to hit you can lean forward into the kneeling leg, dropping down to an elbow or lean straight back. Hip position makes a big difference here, you can move them back and up while tilting them towards the ground or down in front, try out different positions to find which is best for you.

Hold this for 30 seconds for 3 sets and do it three times a day.
.

If you are getting knee pain, try to reorganize yourself so you don’t put as much pressure on the knee joint, avoid forcing it into hyper-extension.
