My little corner of happiness. Yep, there's a bin in it. This might sound slightly ridiculous but I don't care. Zero fucks given. My Orla Kiely bin is a thing of beauty and I might stay up all night to stroke it.
I might even start putting rubbish in it. I haven't yet. I'm still using the old one. I need to find special bin bags that won't show over the top and ruin the spectacular beauty. I'm not even joking.
After two days of highs and lows at work (mostly lows today), I am MORE than ready to seek refuge in my bin. Not inside it or anything. Just looking at it while drinking wine will suffice.
So many things nearly made me lose my shit today. But the thing that tipped me right over the edge and had me losing shit in abundance, was coming home and having to pick up After Eight wrappers off the floor left by the 7yr old. 15 hours I'd been out the house, walking in the rain and I come home to pick shit up off the floor. There was tears and tantrums and multiple excuses.
There's a new rule. Any child caught leaving anything at their arse ( Scottish slang for not picking up after yourself) will be fined 50p per item.
I am enforcing it. They've always got more money than me anyway and I need to pay the £140 bin off somehow.... Putting Isabelle to bed, I told her that she doesn't understand how hard I work and I shouldn't be coming in to empty sweet wrappers on the floor....... .....to which she rolled her eyes and said "you always leave empty crisp packets on the sofa at night...I'll fine you 50p per item and I'll be rich cause you eat loads of crisps....." This kid will be a lawyer or something. She can make a convincing argument out of anything.... She can fine me all she wants. I'm not putting the empty packets of crisps in my new bin. It's too pretty for rubbish....
