I remember after I had Aniyah, I went through a depression. I was sad, sleep deprived, and shell of myself. I talked with a friend, telling her about how I was feeling unhappy and crying all the time. You know what she said to me? “You need sunlight.” ⠀
She told me to sit in the sun for a few minutes a day. I thought it was a little weird but I did it anyway, and you know what, it worked. I can’t say it fixed all my problems, but when I stepped out the house and felt the warm sunlight on my skin, I felt like I could breathe. The sun felt like renewed energy coursing through my veins. I felt optimistic and refreshed. To this day, one of my favorite things to do is feel the sunlight on my skin.
