After 4 months of no back squatting and planning to max out today,

One fear was that I'd injure myself

Another fear was that I'd be way weaker after months of no squat

But the biggest fear was that I'd be stronger @ squat, to the point where deadlift is no longer my specialty

First time working with kilo plates in training! It sucked. Today I got in 556x3, 567x2, and 578 for an extremely ugly single, although I posted the videos in opposite direction cuz why would I put the lightest lift as the cover.
A little less than 5 weeks out from San Jose and I'm not too sure how I feel. My body feels strong but everything is moving slower than I'd like. Can't say I'm too worried tho. My body has never failed me on meet day yet.

A lot of times it takes someone other than yourself to help you recognize your own capabilities and push you beyond your limits! @shabba_squid My Husband does this for me on a daily basis. For me, my shirt says it all! I’m guilty of being one of the most inconsistent people when it comes to my nutrition. Remembering that it just takes one good day to set you back on track is so important. And a few bad days in the grand scheme of things is not the end! It doesn’t have to be catastrophic to your progress and your fitness journey. Just don’t quit, and make today a GREAT day! I pulled a muscle in my groin yesterday 🤷‍♀️😫 but that doesn’t mean I am giving up! I stuck to my meal plan 100% and I’m ready to see what I’m capable of today. You can do it! First day back into trainning, cause I strained my lateral quad 2 Sunday’s ago, so it’s only been upper body trainning sessions the last week, than a unprompted due trip to Boston for 4 days 🙃🏃🏻‍♂️💨 so training was very inconsistent the last couple of weeks. So I wanted to have a killer workout which last 2hrs and 45 mins😅 so atleast I accomplished that 😌

Today is the day I’ve been waiting for since April. Finalllyyy hit the #8weeksout mark and back down to sets of 3 or less 🎉 Hit 5x3 today at 230lbs. Followed up with some slow tempo pause squats. After being in a funk the last few weeks of everything feeling heavy, I came in feeling the strongest I’ve felt in a while today. Getting through the tough training of everything feeling like crap is when the real strength shows. Excited for the last stretch of training up until Europa. 💪🏼
