Did you realize there is a difference between being BUSY and being PRODUCTIVE?
Being busy means you have a lot on your plate and are most likely overwhelmed. Busy people often talk about how busy they are and are distracted easily. Busy equals multitasking.
Being productive means strategically saying no so you don’t take on more than you can handle. Productive people let their results do the talking and make time for what is important. Productive equals focused.
I will be the first to admit that I have spent way too much time being BUSY and not enough time being PRODUCTIVE. One of my biggest goals for the last several weeks of school is shifting my life from busy to productive. How am I going to do this?
To be more productive and less busy, I’m going to:
Make changes when needed instead of just talking about making changes.
Have a mission for my day, week, month, and life.
Be slow to say “yes” to obligations.
Focus on single-tasking instead of multitasking.
I used to think it was a badge of honor to be “busy” and I couldn’t have been farther from the truth. I know I can’t be the only person who struggles with this.
Let me know your thoughts down in the comments Are you busy or productive? How are you going to shift your focus? I want to hear from you!
Bullet journal set up - Year in a glance Super love how my first page came out. Have decided to leave the 2019 YIAG blank as I think I might use up the journal before 2019. The #mildliner really gives the plain page a whole new look. What do you think?
This was a tough afternoon. A Migraine to witnessing a man trying to be revived I had a good excuse NOT to workout. Luckily I took my migraine meds as soon as I felt a twinge and threw on my sunglasses and kept it at bay. I also talked to myself all the way home after witnessing that horrific accident saying “ you’re going to workout regardless how you feel. It’s day one and you’re not missing it. “
Was it easy? Definitely not. Do I feel better emotionally? Definitely do. Am I still hoping my migraine stays at bay? ABSOLUTELY. I can still feel it in the background but it’s manageable. I knew i was bound to get one with the weather changing! I’m going to take another dose before bed. Fingers cross I wake up feeling great! #migraine#weatherchange#selftalk#selfcare#workout#imadetheshift#backintheshop#postworkout#feelinggood#teacher#teacherlife#teachersofinstagram#myjourney
These are the picture books and poems that I use along with reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. We have added them to a process chart graphic organizer, compare them, and just started our AVID 1 pager. Although it’s a emotional and a tough topic, it’s an important one to teach! #wecanneverforget
Do you use Nearpod in your classroom? My students LOVED analyzing character relationships using this nearpod I created using Disney clips. We followed it up by analyzing character interactions in a read aloud. When it was time to analyze characters in a STAAR passage, they were excited and successful! I was also able to use the data to give support/ reteach to meet students individual needs. @nearpodofficial#teachersofinstagram#teachersfollowteachers#testing#technology#iteachthird#data

I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!!”
They did it!! My class completed their behavior KERPLUNK game on Friday, so today we celebrated with their ice cream party!! I tried to make it a big deal, because WHY NOT!? They earned it!! .
Of course, I had to sneak in a little academies too! When I was setting up the goodies, students worked on inventing their own ice cream flavors!
Tomorrow we will start the game over and vote on our next reward!
There’s always something we could pick apart about ourselves. For instance, the moment I snapped this my heart sank because I saw my stomach. The stretch marks, the rolls, etc. I immediately got self conscious and thought, “Swim suit season is so soon.. maybe I’ll get a one piece.” And then I looked down at my thighs and just got upset.
Y’all WHY DO WE DO THIS???? Why are we so self deprecating??? I had to remind myself what my stretch marks mean.. I’ve lost quite a bit of weight. They remind me how far I’ve come. My thighs are bigger because I was a dancer for years.. and they are so strong! Dance brought me so many wonderful memories and I’m so thankful my legs carried me through them all. And swim suit season? If anyone cares to judge my rolls, then they have bigger problems. Me and my rolls like the sunshine and we will be confident all summer long.
I had to stop and remind myself what my mission is and what I stand for. That is to see ALL walking in emotional, physical, mental and spiritual freedom. To see them stopping their negative thoughts and focusing the good. To never give up on themselves. To feel confident and happy. That’s what I will strive to be. .
