The results are finally out!

After 15 months of being under the functional fitness and nutrition program of coach @jeredan_conde, my medical exam results reveal that my liver, pancreas, and other internal organs are all in great shape, and that my blood sugar level is perfectly normal (mine is 80.75 mg/dl, normal range is 70-105 mg/dl). One of the things that Jerdy said that made perfect sense to me is that when we do the right things consistently, we shouldn't worry about any medical test results or inbody results. Bottom line is that we can't cram our way to fitness and health. Aristotle once said, "Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. WE ARE WHAT WE REPEATEDLY DO. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit." Similarly, our well-being, fitness, and health (or lack thereof) are brought about by the little things that we do on a daily basis. No wiggle room for cheating, no time for excuses. Our every little action affects our lives either positively or negatively. Therefore, we are not defined by New Year's resolutions but by our daily decisions. Period.

I'm immensely grateful for the dedication and the unwavering support of my coach and best buddy @jeredan_conde in making sure that my journey will be defined by forward steps no matter how slow or difficult the process can be at times. I wouldn't have done it without you, bro. Thanks so much! Words will never be enough! I would like to also thank @carladconde who has rooted for the success of my fitness journey since day one. You're the best, Carla! Huge thanks too to Dr. Alvin Dimaculangan for teaming up with Jerdy in coming up with #TheLiveFitExperiment, a pioneering program that seeks to uplift the well-being of the Filipino by bringing together functional fitness, nutrition, and medicine.

Earlier today, Coach @jeredan_conde and Dr. @dimaculangana teamed up for the official launch of the #TheLiveFitExperiment at @crossfitinfinitas. So stoked over this holistic fitness and wellness program that aims to improve the quality of life of the Filipino by integrating the very best of the worlds of exercise, nutrition, and medicine. Looking forward to witnessing the journeys of all the pioneering participants and, of course, I'm excited to see their results after 12 weeks! They couldn't be in better hands!
From personal experience, I must say that my life changed from how coach Jerdy calibrated my fitness and wellness protocols for over a year now. More than the #weightloss, the real reward of being under coach Jerdy's wing is the overall lifestyle upgrade that I continue to enjoy. To say that he is a hands-on coach would be an understatement! Last Wednesday, I had my final inbody after weeks of taking part in @crossfitinfinitas' 2017 Summer Buddies #fatloss challenge.

I was initially worried about the inbody results simply because I had less workout days the past couple of weeks due to frequent travel and a last-minute ankle injury. However, the one thing that I made sure I would never compromise (since I began my bespoke fitness and nutrition protocol with coach @jeredan_conde) is the quality of food that I would eat whether in the Philippines or abroad.

Since May 24 of last year, I've never had any refined sugar/desserts as well as gluten. As prescribed by Jerdy, I only had white rice five times in a span of 11 months (during four refeed days when I was in Sydney for a month and once after a four-day Bulletproof fast two months ago in Singapore). I tremendously increased my consumption of prebiotics and probiotics and made sure that I only eat real, clean food as much as possible. I also had to momentarily say goodbye to my two favorites: Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The result of my final inbody for Summer Buddies was quite a pleasant surprise. I lost 20lbs (17lbs of which is pure fat) since I took part in the challenge! I'm also glad to discover that there was negligible muscle loss.

For people who have trouble losing weight like me, I guess it really pays to never compromise one's nutritional protocol. Let's take what we eat seriously because we can't blame anyone for what we choose to consume. For sure, there will be days that our work would preclude us from being able to workout as much as we should but we have to remember that what we put in our mouths during such days could significantly set us back or move us forward in terms of our fitness goals.

Today marks the day that I officially broke the 100kg ceiling in my weight loss journey.

Currently at 98kg (217lbs) after 11 months of being under the wing of coach @jeredan_conde. It feels like it was only yesterday when, at 128kg (282lbs), I began this "lifestyle upgrade" with Jerdy! Thanks for the bespoke fitness and nutrition programming, bro. It's been an epic ride! Can't wait for the next chapter of this adventure!

Grateful to have been given the privilege to share my fitness journey to a group of more than a hundred millennials earlier today. What a good way to spend Good Friday!

I came across this photo of myself taken at the Great Wall of China last May 2016. At 282lbs, I was at my heaviest ever back then. The second photo was taken 11 months and 60lbs later (last Tuesday in Negros Occidental to be exact). It's been an awesome ride and I have so much people to thank for the progress I have made in my fitness journey. However, I wouldn't even have begun (more so carried on) if not for my coach, childhood friend, and dear brother, @jeredan_conde, who is responsible for the customized fitness and nutrition protocol that I have been on since May 24, 2016. My fitness journey has proven to be less about me and more about the people who had made it possible for me to continuously aspire to become a better version of myself. It also taught me that one's journey is as important as one's destination! Looking forward to bringing my journey to the next level in the remaining months of 2017!

Still a couple more weeks left but 2016 has been a fantastic year to say the least.
I will always remember 2016 as the year when my fitness and wellness journey had taken a sharp turn for the better. A huge heartfelt thanks to my personal coach/childhood friend/dear brother @jeredan_conde for initiating my radical fitness journey. I will never ever forget that fateful day when he invited me out to lunch and, towards the end of our fun meal, jolted me out of my "lethargy." He meant it when he told me that as my personal coach, he will be guiding me through every step of the way but only if I give him no less than my 100% commitment and trust (full disclosure of everything I eat and drink, total transparency in my lifestyle habits including the number of days I workout per week and the number of hours of sleep I get each night!). Since coach Jerdy designed a bespoke fitness program for me last May 24, I have lost 41.3 pounds of pure fat (with a total #weightloss of 45.2 pounds), my Percent Body Fat (PBF) went down by 10%, my muscle mass has remained over 90 pounds, my Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) increased, and my strength and endurance in my #CrossFit workouts have steadily improved. Thanks again for being the best coach for my kind of personality and context, Jerdy! It's been a wild and epic ride!

By the way, last night's #lowcarbhighfat #lchf dinner at @lolacafe was delicious and memorable! Good times spent with individuals who are passionate about building a vibrant fitness community in the Philippines! Thanks, Jerdy, #KetoQueen @carladconde, and my former physical trainer at @planetinfinity and current @crossfitinfinitas training buddy @kenrioveros for being part of my journey to becoming a better and fitter version of myself. There are so many people to thank and the journey just keeps on getting better. As Dan Buettner said, the real secret to longevity is belonging to the "Right Tribe" of inspiring, forward-looking, and healthy individuals!
