Have you seen James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke with Paul McCartney yet? It’s my favourite so far. Paul gives Jame’s a bit of a tour around Liverpool. Funny, emotional and of course, loads of great songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjvzCTqkBDQ
Here he is on the The Paul McCartney World Tour playing with Robbie McIntosh on June 28, 1990 at the King's Dock in Liverpool.
The King's Dock show was a huge deal as Paul hadn't played Liverpool since he was with Wings in 1979. Paul played an incredible tribute/medley to John Lennon that included Strawberry Fields Forever, Help!, and Give Peace a Chance. In a @RollingStone magazine interview, Paul said that he added these three quintessential John Lennon tunes to the setlist that night to mark the 50th anniversary of Lennon's birth year. It ended up that the medley worked out so well that he kept it in the setlist for the remainder of the tour. It should be mentioned that this was also a big deal as Paul really hadn't been playing many Beatles songs prior to this tour. Two days later, my friends and I went to see Paul McCartney again at the June 30th Knebworth Festival. The lineup for this festival was absolutely stacked, it included Pink Floyd, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant (they played Going to California and Wearing and Tearing), Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Genesis and Tears for Fears.
