It’s #trxfreestylefriday! I teach a great TRX Express class at noon every Wednesday. The majority of my clients roll into the studio straight from their desk jobs. I love to start class with a flow that lights up the core, stretches the hip flexors and wakes up the hip extensors. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
1. Start in the reverse balance lunge position. Activate the glute of foot in cradles to stretch the hip flexors (I recommend a 2 second hold once you feel the stretch because I’m a huge fan of Aaron Mattes’ Active Isolated Stretching technique—which I’ve adapted to TRX here). Perform 5-10 stretches
2. Once the hip is open, lunge back even further to touch the floor by the front foot which REALLY wakes up the hamstrings and glutes on the way back up (I offer the option of plyo at the top). Perform 10 reps
3. Finally, wrap this series with a TRX single leg burpee for a true core stabilizer awakening extravaganza. Repeat 8-10x
And don’t forget to switch sides and repeat.

Simple yet effective, this combo will have your core and triceps burning in no time. To increase the load walk yourself back towards the anchor point.
Technical tip: Be sure to keep your tailbone tucked and rib cage in as you extend forward into each exercise.

Challenging your CORE 🍎 and Upper Body 💪🏻 with today’s #TRXFreeStyleFriday 💥
Adding in the variability of the rotation as well and single leg plank will LIGHT UP your core and increase the resistance on the upper body as you move your leg under and over your body!
Make sure that you OWN your plank! That’s first and foremost!
Place one foot through booth foot cradles, own the top of your plank.
Begin by bringing your free leg under your body and lower yourself down towards the floor then press back to the top of that plank without letting your hips sag or rotate.
Then bend your free leg and bring your heal behind your suspended leg and again lower your body towards the ground and press back to the top of that plank again with out sagging in your low back.
Give it a try, film it, and be sure to tag me in it! 👊🏻

#trxfreestylefriday is back to those days that I was getting my first degree in Krav Maga. One of my conditioning exercises was pushups on the medicine ball. To build arm, shoulder, wrist and core strength and stability. Now when you do this exercise on TRX Suspension Trainer and add medicine ball, you are moving to next level. Meaning your feet and hands are not on a floor, and your body is fighting with instability. .
🔸Straps are on mid-length, and your body position is on the ground, facing away from the anchor point. .
🔸Before you add medicine ball, master your TRX push-ups. .
🔸Push your heels back inside foot cradle to activate your glutes. That will make your hip stable. .

I like TRX Medicine Ball. Because of the texture, it helps you to build a strong grip. .

"I am a group fitness trainer and studio owner who found my passion in health and fitness ten years ago. Throughout my career, I have taught a variety of different styles of Pilates and recently took interest in the TRX system. After I attended a TRX training class, I knew this would be my next addiction. There is so much versatility with the TRX equipment that I can teach clients at different fitness levels. It is seamless for me to modify for a variety of strength levels. As I was planning my new heated studio, I knew I had the opportunity to offer a unique class if I installed this equipment in my space. I have now opened my own studio @sweatstudio_miami in Aventura, FL. I offer 50 minute TRX classes which combines well with the other classes I have on my schedule. To me, Group Fitness is the most motivating and most importantly-FUN-way to workout. I feed off of my clients’ energy, so that helps me set the pace of my class. Seeing these men and women challenged and truly pushing through a workout is what makes me love what I do. Watching my clients achieve goals, love their bodies, seeing the them grow more confident is WHY I go to work every day. I always tell my new clients that seeing results is addicting! As long as you push yourself past your comfort zone and come see me consistently, you WILL see results. I am a busy working mom of two and know that it isn’t easy to get a workout in. Because I know the scheduling and sacrifice it takes to the get to my studio, I make it as enjoyable as possible. Some moms only get this one hour, so I prepare the class flow, environment and playlist to ensure the workout is fun and effective. My ultimate goal is to create a space where my clients can get a break in their busy day and SWEAT it out together in a community of like minded, goal oriented people."⠀

"I grew up an elite gymnast in Australia and performed with Cirque du Soleil's Orlando Based production "La Nouba" from 2001 to 2011. ⠀

I was always considered an elegant gymnast, but physically weaker than most others. With the demanding training and performing schedule at Cirque du Soleil, I quickly realized I needed to learn how to become my strongest self and keep my body as healthy as possible healthy in order to perform nightly doing something I loved for many years to come.⠀

I got my Personal Training cert in 2006. In 2013 I won the title of Ms Fitness Universe. ⠀

I love helping people, especially women and busy moms, around the world feel strong and confident in their own skin. I've been running a successful online personal training business for a little over 4 years now and just last month (in Jan) opened a boutique TRX and Personal Training studio with my fiance @chriscygul in St Augustine Beach, FL.⠀

I made a personal commitment over the last 21 days to do more yoga because my body was feeling unbalanced and I kept saying I didn’t have time... Eventually I got tired of my own excuses and decided to take action.
1️⃣ My first action was to tell my significant other. He’s always my biggest supporter.
2️⃣ I devised a plan. I knew the yoga studios close to my home and work and make sure I had all the means to easily book those classes on my phone.
3️⃣ I anticipated my own roadblocks and had a back up plan for my roadblocks. Usual excuses: my body was too tired from my other workouts and I didn’t have the energy for a full class or no class times work with my schedule. I downloaded an audio fitness app called @movewith (If you want a 7 day free trial, see my bio for the link). This app provided the means for me to do a convenient at-home class where I could pick a short 8 minute “before bed” class or a 30 min gentle back stretch class. I had no excuse to say I didn’t have time. I usually did my at-home yoga before bed 😴 (note I slept like a baby)
4️⃣ I created MORE accountability by announcing my commitment to my online fit fam. I promised to showing proof of my yoga happenings in my IG stories everyday. I check in
5️⃣ I started right away. I didn’t wait for the first of the month or for a new week. I dived right in. I started on a Tuesday.

Today is the day after my commitment and, unlike being on a diet where you can’t wait for it to be over, what I established in the 21 days didn’t disappear and I didn’t want it to be over. I guess that was the point, right? I went to yoga class today and honestly, I may do a little yoga before bed tonight too. I made a commitment to 21 days because I wanted to change my lifestyle. I found a way to do it. I crushed all my excuses and I’m way happier when I’m taking care of myself. Balance in the body feels so good. I also feel less stressed and I somehow lost 4lbs. Stress 👇🏼 Scale 👇🏼

DAY 21 of my 21 day commitment to Yoga. I did yoga everyday! Sometime for 8 minutes and sometimes for 90 minutes. Most days I averaged 20 minutes though. My yoga practice never took away from my regular workout routine and most of the time I never even got sweaty! The stretching, calming, peaceful and meditative part of the practice indeed give me MORE TIME! I fell asleep more easily, I slept thru the night, I woke up rested and less anxious. My mind felt clearer and I was proud of myself simply because I was being good to my body and was showing discipline. I am more flexible in the back of my legs and my shoulders feel better. I lost 4 pounds. And while not the goal, the decrease in weight spoke volumes to the fact that working out harder and eating less is not always the way. You can eat clean and do two a days in the gym but if you aren’t sleeping well and controlling your stress, your body won’t find balance. Be like the panda 🐼. He knows what’s up! Lastly, thank you to all who followed me on this 21 day journey. There is so much power in accountability. If you want to really make something happen but are trigger shy, say your goal out loud and tell people who will cheer you on! Thanks fit fam for your support! "I have always been inspired by health and wellness and have a life-long passion for learning. Born and brought up in Colombia, I was a paramedic and a rescue diver that was ardent about fitness. I moved to New York in 2006, where I continued pursuing my love for exercise and decided to become a strength and conditioning coach. I am an ACE certified personal and group trainer who enjoys teaching people to move the right way. TRX changed my way of training and I fell in love with idea of the simplicity of the straps. I am a certified black rank TRX coach and have taken all possible TRX education and attended all US-based TRX summits since I joined the TRX family.⠀

My desire to help people reach their fitness goals is my calling. Moving the right way is key to exercise and the TRX system makes this possible. I am constantly learning and believe that our journey of learning is never over. I recently opened my own fitness business and specialize in functional training using TRX Suspension system as the main tool. ⠀

Teaching people to move, train and perform better is very important to me. I also help inspire young kids of all ages to be fit and move through life with physical literacy though my program Strong Teens/Preteens. The goal of this program is to make an impact on the health of our kids through fun and play-based activities teaching them foundational movements that will help them be active for life. I also introduce the kids to TRX and enjoy watching them get better and stronger each time.⠀

I am a big champion of TRX and my biggest motto in life is “To take a moment to enjoy life, learn from your failures and always pursue your passions”⠀

"Fitness and living a healthy lifestyle has always been an integral part of my life. It helps that I grew up in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica with plenty fresh fruits/veggies and 3 older brothers giving chase. That's how I found out I was fast lol. This also meant playing soccer and cricket with older boys. Trust me you learn fast! ⠀

I went to Munro College High School in Malvern, ST. Elizabeth just like my 2 older brothers. This is an all boys institution perched atop the Santa Cruz mountains - quite the memorable breathtaking sunsets and unforgettable cold showers. I got to hone my athletic skills in soccer (my love), athletics and field hockey. I won the all island high school triple jump champs in '97 which led me to earn a full ride to Tulane University in New Orleans. The highlight of my varsity career was winning the conference usa outdoor triple jump in '01.⠀

Over the years my love for fitness, post my corporate years, led me back to my roots. Fitness serves as my creative outlet, stress release, athletic maintenance and my center. My body is my temple and everything I do from my diet, rest & recovery to my training serves to augment and sustain my lifestyle. "My name is Coach Cameron Singleton and work in the Eugene, OR area (scoo Ducks!) I am a TRX yellow rank coach and hold a degree in Exercise and Movement Science. I have worked in Health clubs for a bit over 10 years. I believe in moving well, often, and with others! My goal is to bring the first TRX functional training facility to Eugene, OR. ⠀

Growing up I was convinced I was going to be a baseball player. In high school I picked up track and football. It was then when my mental health took a shot. I constantly pocked on my the cool members of the team for not being the "typical jock" and absolutely hated being in the weight room. ⠀

I viewed the weight room as a place of vanity and "locker room talk". I had lost my mental health. I withdrew myself from all sports and took up board sports. A few years into skating and anowboarding. I managed to tear both my miniscus and MCL in my right knee. I had now also lost my physical health.⠀

A few bad relationships and some added pounds of fat later I felt hopeless. With nowhere to go but down (so it seemed) I finally made the decision to get my health back.⠀

One of the first products that helped me get back on my feet was the TRX training system. I actually found my first TRX at a thrift for for 5 bucks! TRX helped me build a foundation for my movement. But most of all it made me feel confident in my knee dominant and single leg movements. ⠀

Saturday mornings are the one day a week that Josh & I sleep in and have a leisurely breakfast together. It’s my favorite thing. You know, not rushing, no urgency or pressure to get ready fast. When #trxfreestylefriday and your #birthday is on the same day, all you need to do is to workout like your favorite #superhero.
I got this move from my #mentor @nemafit, and he named it TRX Batman Cape Rotation lol.
The movement is like when Batman is turning around with his cape, and it is a rotational lunge with a lot of obliques. .
🔸Straps are on mid-length, and you are standing sideways towards the anchor point. .
🔸Grab both foot cradles with the hand close to the anchor point. .
🔸From there drop your knees and while you are driving your arm over your head, rotate your whole body. .
🔸When you master the rotation, you can add a jump to it. .

Building a Rock Solid CORE with today’s #TRXFreeStyleFriday!
#TRX Pike + @ultimatesandbag Deadlift.
This Antagonist Paired Superset will challenge the anterior core as well as the posterior core AND get that heart rate UP! 💪🏻😅
Perform the TRX Pike for 5 sets then the USB Deadlift for 5 sets. Repeat for 6-8 sets making sure to keep standards with each movement, resting for only 30 seconds in between each set.

Speaking of welcoming back poses that I haven’t been able to do in awhile, pinchamayurasana from a press is another (vs kicking into like I normally do). Again it’s hamstring flexibility that’s needed (+ still lacking).
So earlier today I hopped on the TRX for some assistance to get the press started and then let the straps go slack to kept go all the way up (#imallthewayup) since I know can hold my pincha at the top. .
⚠️: If you are ready to try this, make sure you can control yourself on the way down. That sh!t is no joke and the momentum will pull you down.

A fun Flow in @zaideeshae ‘s Hot Yoga Class last night at @otiumstudios inspired my #trxfreestylefriday today!
I can still hear her saying “inhale lengthen left leg, exhale left knee to left elbow, drop it down(inhale), pick it up (exhale) inhale to lengthen, I could quote the entire thing but I’ll just stop here and you all can come check out her class for yourself.
Super fun and challenging @trxtraining combined with yoga is truly the ultimate combo. I get such a mental and physical challenge from both. It puts me in a wonderful state of peace.
Looking forward to giving a significant amount of my time and energy to practicing Yoga as well as collaborating it with TRX!
