I’m SO happy I got to celebrate Father’s Day Weekend with my papa. We went paddle boarding at the beaches in North Carolina! Moving from LA to be with my parents in Virginia has been one of the best decisions of my life
Family, love, taking care of yourself and being around those that support you - that’s the best! I think young people (like myself) feel pressure to move away to a big city in order to seem successful or relevant. But when you’re in a big city and broke AF, living in a not great situation, lacking a support system, and missing your family, what’s the point?
Eventually my pride and vanity fell to what was the best decision for my happiness, my ability to achieve my long term goals (which were being hindered by paying 1200+ for LA rent, and high LA cost of living $$$$), and to be there for the people the loved me the most - my parents and my boyfriend
And guess what? I’m still able to do what I’m most passionate about - helping animals and people by spreading a compassionate and healthy vegan lifestyle
So, long post, but as I’m on a plane for a work trip to LA right now, it’s bittersweet because I enjoy being in Virginia and at home so much, but I’m also excited to pull off some kick ass work events with my incredible coworkers, and eat some bomb ass vegan food in LA. Hopefully this post helps anyone who may find themselves in the same position! .
