Almost all packed up and going through one last morning flow here in New York, thinking a whole lot about planning. About how no matter how much we plan or predict the path our lives will follow, there is so little that actually goes to plan.
I used to say, “I’m going to move to New York, go to school, have a super successful career in fashion, and live there for the rest of my days living like Carrie Bradshaw!” (Lmao) Now not a single part of that sentence is true.
I didn’t plan on leaving my school, changing my major, and having to take an extra year to get general credits at a community college before transferring to a California university. i didn’t plan on making an Instagram account to share recipes and health tips and somehow make a business out of it. I didn’t plan on ever taking up yoga or meditation or any of the things that have made me a better more down-to-earth person. I didn’t plan on ever wanting to have the “normal” life, living in a quiet neighborhood in the burbs with kids running around, in fact i detested this, but after living in this insane city that just sounds like the dream to me.
Honestly, i can’t tell you what I’ll be doing 5 years or even a year from now, we simply cannot plan every little aspect of our lives, because everything you know or want can change in an instant.
I’ve learned not to stress about the uncontrollable twists and turns our lives will make because the universe is working IN YOUR FAVOR, and she will give you exactly what you need. Even if it’s nothing at all like what you planned. |
