A perennial fave for many years. I still have my original stereo copy from growing up which I wore the piss out of from learning EC’s riffs on guitar. I replaced it with a cleaner stereo version for listening. In more recent years I acquired a mono version which actually sounds really good which is a stretch because I normally don’t like mono mix versions.
Highlight album of the week: pure heroine September 27th 2013 this album was born, singer Lorde gave us her first studio album and challenged the way we looked at pop music forever. I first heard about Lorde from her hit single “Royals” and being from Kansas City home of the Royals you could imagine how much i heard it and did not want to hear it. So when the album was released i had little to no interest, but i was out somewhere and heard tennis court and then looked it up and couldn’t believe it was Lorde. i instantly went and bought the album and from start to finish couldn’t believe these songs i heard were written by a 17 year old she is without a doubt ahead of her time. She gave us hit singles like “Royals” “Tennis court” “glory and gore” and “Team” i will always have a love affair with Team because of a recent concert i went to of hers ( to be continued on future post). The singles were great but my favorite song from the album come in the form of “White teeth teens” “Ribs” and “a world alone” i remember the first time hearing a world alone and how her voice just flowed with the production of the song i was shook still an when i hear it. “And I’ve never felt more alone it feels so scary, getting old” she sang on Ribs i felt those lyrics, because even if you have people around you growing up can feel extremely isolating especially if you don’t feel understood. This album will always be one of my favorites from one of my favorite artist, if you haven’t listened you should and if you have listen again! @lordemusic#lorde#music#highlight#albumoftheweek#musiclover#musiclovers#pop#dance#popmusic#dancemusic#livinglegend#great#timeless#pureheroine#grammys#vinyl#vinylcollection#vinylcollectionpost#vinylgram#vinyllove#vinylclub#vinyljunkie#vinylrecords#vinyladdict#vinyllovers#blog#blogger#100likes#musicblog#musicblogger@iversonmusic_blog
PATTI SMITH GROUP - Wave is the 4th album, and it was released on May the 17th 1979 through Arista Records.
This would be their most conventional release, it was less commercially successful than the previous, Easter, although it continued the band's move towards a more radio friendly mainstream sound. Wave was the last album that Smith made before marrying and retiring from record-making for nine years, and it can be heard as a farewell to the music business. Their is a standout version of "So You Want to Be (A Rock 'n' Roll Star)", among the most bitter accounts of fame on record. But Smith also achieves a sense of charm and sincerity on Wave that she hadn't even attempted on her earlier albums. For me another stand out track is "Dancing Barefoot", as testament the song would go on to be covered by a multitude of artists for decades to come.
Some may say that this isn't one of her strongest albums, but it's certainly stood the test of time and still sounds better than what most of her contemporaries were producing in the period.
RSD 2018: Pink Floyd - The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn There was NO WAY that this release would escape me. Got it within the first minute I entered my local record store @mansion_24 / @platoapeldoorn Maybe that had something to do with the fact that I was the first one to enter Holland_vinyl

This is my anti #recordstoreday post against the monopoly (my boyfriend said so when he tried to cheer me up bc I wasn’t able to enjoy this shopping mania at this time ), but I hope you guys had a great Record Store Day. Did you get what you were looking for?
BUT at least I got my new portable record player Crosley Cruiser ll !! I was surprised that it didn’t sound so bad at all what I was prepared for and I’m sure it will crown my warm summer nights. And when doesn’t (seriously it will take for looong time when summer finally hits to Finland), it fits perfectly for my new bedroom.
Ps. My super cool ‘Groovy Baby’ shirt is from @phoxydesign That guy is a pure genius with these designs!
