Part 2 of Summer Wines from tasting @ackerwines - Von Winning Pinot Noir Rosé 2017 - beautiful Pinot Noir Rosé near Deidesheim, ripe red berries and full acidity - this was my favorite pick. Weingut Von Winning is the rejuvenated 40-hectare estate of Dr. Deinhard, an historically-celebrated property in Deidesheim, Pfalz that like so many once-important German estates had been resting on its laurels for some time. Founded in 1849 by Dr.Deinhard, developed by his son-in-law Leopold von Winning in 1907, the estate was revived in 2007 by Achim Niederberger, together with the Bassermann-Jordan and von Buhl properties. Tragically Herr Niederberger died in 2013, with his wife Jana now continuing the great work. Jana is supported by the team of: Kurt Rathgeber (head winemaker), Stephan Attmann, Andreas Hütwohl and Joachim Jaillet (vineyard manager). Their first vintage was the 2008.
Bodegas O'ventosela Vina Leirina Tinto 2015, Red Wine Blend: 70% Mencia, 15% Souson, 15% Brancellao - juicy, deep ruby-purple, with aromas of dark fruits, black raspberry, & violets. The family firm of Bodegas O’Ventosela dates to 1980, when Juan Miguez Montero, tapping into the contacts and know-how acquired during his career as a restaurateur, decided to begin making his own wine. he majority of the crop is sourced from the estate vineyard of Finca Traveselas, but Montero also purchases fruit from small farmers in the area; soils are alluvial over a bedrock of granite. #rosewine #pinotnoirrose #pinotnoir #spanishwine #winetasting #winestagram #germanwine #Rosé #summerwine #wine #sommelierlife #winestudy #vino #vonwinning #wineshop #vin #newyorkcity #wineoclock
