Tiny hands resting on the glass, his eyes watching each drop of rain fall from the grey sky. Eager to slide on his rain boots, pull on his coat and dance in the rain. Staring out the foggy window dreaming of jumping in forming puddles. He can almost feel the water drip down his face. A smile that stretches from ear to ear just thinking of the joy playing in the rain will bring.
"The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad, let the distant shores rejoice." Gloomy, dark, damp, sluggish or even depressing are words we use describe a rainy day. They are also words we use when a storm is coming in our own lives. When we there is a situation in front of us we feel that we can not handle, when we have to make a tough decision or we loose control. It can be difficult to see light through the grey clouds surrounding you. When the storm arrives and you are in the mist of the rain it seems impossible to be covered or protected. Let me encourage you with this," the Lord reigns for ever and ever" Exodus 15:18. Be as eager as a child to play in the rain, slide on your spiritual rainboots and dance in the reign of your heavenly King. This is why, Exodus 15 goes on to tell us in the next verse "When Pharaohs horses, chariots, and horsemen went into the sea, the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground." Let go of control, you don't need to try to fix every situation or make our own umbrella as it may be. The light will always break through the grey clouds and you will feel the warmth of the sun again. The King reigns over all situations, and the Son will bring you joy through the weather. The storm is something to delight in, that is when we see the power of our King. 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 " But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
