I call this my Autumn Essentials Salad ๐Ÿ˜ƒ To me, roasted beetroot, carrots and pumpkin mixed with candied nuts and feta is a match made in heaven! I could literally eat this every damn day! In this one I added chickpeas for protein as well as mixed greens and kale to bulk it up and add lots of phytonutrients. Hands up if this flavour combo sounds delish to you too!

HAPPY FRIDAY FEASTING (I am officially making that a thing)
Each Friday I am going to *try* to post some food, drink, snack, something that you can incorporate your oils, YL supplements, oils, etc.. TONIGHT is BABY FOOD!!!! What is it?
Peach + Peas & Fennel with a side of Ningxia ;) I did roughly:
- 1 cup of frozen peas (thawed in the microwave)
-2 cups of frozen peaches (thawed in the microwave)
-1 shot of Ningxia (I used an actual shot glass)
-1 shot of water (I used an actual shot glass LOL)
-a small shake of fennel seeds (use a little bit of fennel bulb if your grocery store has it, fresh is better)
Puree it and VOILA!
Typically with the Ningxia for babies, you would want to do 50 Ningxia/50 Water <--- so this recipe is good. Our little guy is 7.5 months old right now.

Another successful #mealprepsunday ๐Ÿ˜Š
However today's prep was a little different. See, I usually prep only my breakfasts and lunches for work as well as some sides for dinner and I leave the protein option open and cook it only the day of. But today I actually prepped everything and I plan to not have to worry about any meal.this week (at least for 4 days)!

The other important factor about today's meal prep is that I spent under $30 for all you see here! And that goes to show that you can get a lot of bang for your buck and eat clean/healthy on a budget!
.
Picking the right type of ingredients plays an important role too because, for example, today I bought 1 pack of 4 chicken breasts @shoprite for $5.09 - I cut 2 of them into cubes and pan seared them with an Asian inspired seasoning. The other 2 I cut into thinner slices, seasoned with a honey bbq sauce and grilled them. I also bought a pack of sweet Italian sausage (5 links) for $2.99 and used 3 of them to make sausage, peppers and onions and the remaining 2 I grilled with the chicken. So out of these 2 protein sources I got 4 separate meal options! We ate the grilled chicken and sausages for dinner and I still got leftovers ๐Ÿ˜‰!

All this you see here took a little over 1hr to do (the frozen gf protein pancakes are from this morning)! You don't have to complicate it! Keep things simple! It's not hard! If you'd like some pointers, I am more than glad to help!!

I sent my husband off on his work trip tonight with a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner (by his request!), and later whipped this up for myself. @organicgirl mixed greens with @tessemaes honey poppyseed dressing (both my gold standard!), roasted @wholefoods salmon, delicata squash (seriously shedding tears that this is the last one Iโ€™ve saved well past the season!), and @traderjoes tricolor petite carrots. Successful meal prepping requires planning for your schedule. Some days you will need more travel and quick grab options and some days you may have time to cook a fresh meal from scratch.
I kind of admire those disciplined people who can eat the same thing day after day. That is so not me. I Luuuuv variety and need to eat seasonal.
I have been prepping meals weekly for the past 8 years and my top three tips for success and consistency are:
1. Keep it real! Stick with whole foods
2. Plan with portions in mind. Buy only what you need so you dont end up throwing out food.
3. Try new things so you dont get board. If you have a new recipe to try you have something to look forward to

PS- the @pressedjuicery freeze for dessert was delicious!!

A raw Mars Bar Cake travelling to #yarrawonga for a birthday. Decorated with fresh figs, blackberries, peanut butter and raspberry and coconut Bliss Balls, lots of raw treats such as caramel sticks, snickers and picnic bars, and some little chocolates. Of course some fresh flowers ๐Ÿ’ to add some colour. Created so that friends and family can have a little feast ๐Ÿ’•

I feels good to eliminate waste, but I hate when people pass by and mistake it for trash or even recycling. Itโ€™s #organicmatter and will turn into #blackgold !

Have you noticed cauliflower is the new Kale?! showing up on restaurant menus, in farmers markets and supermarkets in green, purple, orange and white shades. In varying sizes, some only the size of a ping pong or tennis ball!
This cruciferous crusader is the holy roller of health! Loaded with soluble fiber, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, and Vitamin B6, to name a few, plus its low in fat, has no added cholesterol... and Low... very low in calories!!! Heck this sounds like Iโ€™m describing a nutrient-dense, life-loving vegetable!!! Which of course, I am!!! :

My plant dinner tonight used a medium sized cauliflower, and a few mini sized cauliflower-florets, which I roasted in the oven after par-steaming followed by a cool down dousing of a curry sauce. Time in the oven, to brown, out quickly for good behavior and served with steamed kale and seasoned couscous! :
