Norway has organized and funded the systematic slaughter of 42 Norwegian wolves, amounting to 75% of the total wolf population. These wolves are officially red listed and are protected by the Norwegian Constitution, the 2009 Divercity Act, and the Bern Convention, which is a binding international legal instrument in the field of nature conservation, covering most of the natural heritage of the European continent. The convention states: “Nature is critical for human life. Maintaining a diverse and healthy environment not only provides us with energy, food and clean air, as well as psychological and physical benefits, but also boosts the economy in countless different ways”. The Norwegian government continues to allow this to happen despite the breach of law and the warning of countless biologists and experts in the field of conservation.
