The suicides of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain were surprising, eye opening and saddening. What will it take for our world to take mental health seriously? This is the truth, the lesson I continually see from these earthly losses. These are “in our face” signs that our minds are fractured and in need of mending. If the deaths of our children in multiple school shootings aren’t opening our eyes...what will?
I don’t know the answers but I feel I recognize the problem. We have to learn to love ourselves and in the process love one another...enough to care for ourselves mentally and physically...a time for work and a time for play...to relax, to nurture, to heal..just to be.
We are not machines. We are spiritual beings who must learn how to connect to our power source which is God. God gives us all that we need second by second to strengthen and empower us to serve our purpose here on earth which is to love one another, see our brothers as ourselves judging him not because of his perceived flaws but lifting him up and encouraging him to be his best self. Non-judgement is so hard sometimes but if we are honest with ourselves we know that when we are judged it hurts. So we give to others what we wish to receive from them and this is it.
No two paths are the same and until we walk the exact same path we won’t know if we would have chosen any differently.
Be thankful for your life and your uniqueness for the path God has placed you on. Do your best, seek God and love one another as God loves you.
Sounds simple? It’s the truth. The truth is simple and the truth will set us free...everyday, all day long. #oneperspective #mine #faithful #loving #open #willing #FLOW #beyou #loveyourself #loveoneanother #ourlivesdependonit #
