There’s the beer!
This Blended Cultures Dry Hopped Pale Ale by @luppolo_brewing was my final beer at the @vcbw Kick Off Party and unfortunately, I had.. too many other beers beforehand, to really remember much about it and I wasn’t able to finish the whole can that night... When I went to the the source, aka Luppolo on Venables and inquired about the pale ale that got away from me, all I could remember was ‘there was a tiger on the can, I swear’. The lovely lady working simply pointed to the fridge near the front door and by golly if the thing wasn’t full of them. Well, by closer investigation, it’s not a tiger, it’s a ram, but the can is orange and I don’t know why the mountain goat looks like a tiger, but it does. Now enough about the gorgeous can, what’s the beer like? It’s a dry hopped hazy pale ale with tangerine and orange notes, as well as tropical fruit. I didn’t get much tropical fruit, but I’ve also been drinking a lot of pineapple and milkshake beers lately, so my pallet didn’t pick up the subtler notes in here, plus the dry hopping makes it a little more difficult for me to grasp all that juicy flavour. Still an amazing beer and a great brewery to boot. Fun fact, I hail from European descent, my brother and I are first generation Canadians, we are one half Italian, other half Northern Irish, so to see an Italian brewery doing such great things, makes me happy! Salud, cugi!
