When hardships come our way, who do we look to? Do we call on our friends and tell them our problems? Do we call our pastors asking them to pray for us? Do we go on social media? Do we seek our partners, or our spouses? Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with seeking our counsel. But we must seek God first. I have learned this and I’m still learning it. When your circumstances seem to be caving in on you, the first thing we want to do is vent to people. Sometimes God is the last one one our minds.
But Is our salvation in people or in Christ? Is our security in people or in the Lord? Our loved ones can give us great wisdom and advice, but this verse states,” I will wait for the God of my salvation.” God is our salvation! What if God is waiting for us to w a i t for Him and to seek Him for instructions for the current circumstance?!
Sometimes we don’t even give God a chance to move in our lives bc we have any and everything taking His place of guidance and wisdom. Let’s all strive to do as this verse says. Remember that God is our salvation, only God can deliver us , only God can hear us and answer the desires of our hearts. No one else! Instead of picking up that phone today, just stop. And reach out to God. Tell Him what’s on your mind and on your heart. The good, the bad and the ugly! Remember God is also our friend and He longs to be our #1 go to person. Love you!
