P’ea is home He was so lovable and cuddly when I picked him up; mostly sedated. He’s on 3 different medications and doing a lot better but I feel bad that he won’t be able to run in the yard anymore; only short slow walks from now on although every time I open the door he wants to rush lol. The hardest thing at the moment is keeping him and Luna apart for now since he needs to rest.
I thought Tama wouldn’t make it yesterday. But! He did! I’m so relieved.

Mom was being super paranoid about a little bump on my leg so she made me go to work with her to get it looked at. Auntie Dr. Jay poked me with a needle and then felt my surgery leg just for fun. No scary mast cell disease (and nothing abnormal, it's probably just my allergies) and my leg is doing great! Mom is just crazy. #crazydoglady#vet#problemchild#dogsofhawaii#dogsofig#rednose#doggyfashion
UPDATE: I'm going on day 5 in the hospital. I'm still not eating and my liver values are still extremely high. I had a feeding tube placed today to hopefully get some food and water in me. I am on a huge cocktail of antibiotics until we figure out what my infection is sensitive to.
SAVING TIKI THE TORTI KITTY: our last night in #honolulu - we went to a famous old and remote tiki bar. But the next 24 hours would be about saving a cat - not having that last mai Tai. We arrived after a 40 min car ride to find the bar closed and our uber driver long gone. In the blackness of the night in this industrial and remote hood - @tsec68 heard a teeny meow. This sweet girl with a VERY hurt arm / paw — in multiple places — hanging so badly we thought it was broken or would need to be amputated — was limping toward us and using her wrist to walk (since could not use her paw). She was crying for help but had an amazing temperament and clear will to live. We immediately scooped her up - got another uber - convinced him to let us bring her in the car and take us all to the vet. She cuddled on me, put her arms around my shoulders, and started purring. Didn’t scratch or bite. Possibly the sweetest cat I have ever met. We found #24hourvet@verc_hawaii - where we spent almost all night (and discovered arm not broken — but severe nerve damage). She needed immediate medical attention but was in a little better shape than we thought. We said “do what you can to help her”- and we would cover the bills. The next day — I cried almost the whole way home. I was so worried about what would happen to her and how we could find a home for her and help her, all the way from SF. I called the vet everyday like a crazy person, and found that she eating, resting and melting hearts. She was able to spend the past 6 days in amazing care and love at awesome clinic. She is recovering! HAPPY ENDING! My last call was tonight - where they reported they found her a #foreverhome — she was ADOPTED (and she will be indoors). They thanked us for our big hearts. But we are grateful they have an even bigger one. if @bethostern can do it - - we can all do it too! Today we celebrate all the #animallovers out there and the #vets and #vettech // PLEASE #adoptdontshop#kittens#cats#tortoiseshellcat#thankgodfor24hourvets#tikithetortie#nocatleftbehind
