We visited Hampi, unplanned and on a deadline of 3-4 days which is definitely NOT enough but we some how managed to see almost everything there. (Run through it) we woke up at 5 am everyday in fear of missing out things.
Foreigners stay here for months.. exploring , knowing , completely consuming the history. (That’s the way to do it)
This is Vijay viththala temple , built in the 15th century and it’s dedicated to lord Vishnu.
Notable structures: Shrine of the goddess, maha mantapa, ranga mantapa, kalyana mantapa , utsava mantapa and the stone chariot.

One of the prominent tourist hotspots in Hampi.
Originally it consisted of Goddess Lakshmi seated on the lap of Lord Narasimha and hence the temple's name,Lakshminarasimha.

However, in the raid of 1565 Goddess Lakshmi's statue was vandalised and removed, we can also see one of the hands is damaged.

Vittala Temple is an architectural masterpiece. This temple, which was dedicated to Lord Vishnu, was built in the 15th century by the Vijayanagara Kings, each of whom added to its structure. The center of attraction is the exquisitely carved monolith stone chariot of Garuda. Among the notable features of the temple are the musical pillars and carvings that depict life during that period, including images of Portuguese trading horses.

Just outside the temple are the ruins of a large marketplace, where horses were traded by merchants from across the world, including Portugal and Arabia. #nature #sky #sun #summer #beach #beautiful #pretty #sunset #sunrise #blue #flowers #night #tree #twilight #clouds #beauty #light #cloudporn #photooftheday #love #green #skylovers #dusk #weather #day #red #iphonesia #mothernature

There’s something interesting about these stone pillars & the way its positioned on the hilltop, you have to stand at an angle to view the whole thing or else you will only see the bottom part of the pillars.
Amazing architectural design isn’t it !
