This is my 2nd year attending silent retreat with my Guru Deva, hosted at Mount Madonna Canter. Grateful to receive teachings and pure lineage blessings in Vedic arts; by an accoladed Sanskrit scholar, yogi, monk (since childhood), and accomplished sadhu.
These things I don't speak of casually nor lightly; but, then, it leaves me not speaking much at all (not a bad thing!) I post in an earnest attempt to share my joy, interests and what I do with my time traveling or abroad when I'm.not in AloLa'a Studio. Inn addition, it seems aftet 30+years being yogini and quietly, privately cultivating sadhana (spiritual practice)... and currently being a yoga studio owner ....... that in these modern times it requires a social media presence! I need to get hip and get with the times! Thus, I shall be attempting to post more of my life and adventures, usually spent quietly, in nature or in temples and in SACRED Space(s); for quiet frankly... those are my interests.
These pics are of the Hanuman Temple on site, where Aarti prayers are held for public twice daily. I've grown to love this place nestled in the redwood forests in Santa Cruz mountains; and a deep respect for Baba Hari Dass, whom I've never met and who created this retreat center.
Ki Jai! Jai Guru Dev!
