I might complain about the traffic in the surf town I live in but living in a place where everybody wants to be is a good problem to have! What's unique about living at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains is that you have the ocean/beaches to one side of you and redwood forests to the other. And, the weather! It really doesn't get any milder (even though I miss my Portland rain!). Anytime we travel to other places that are super hot or cold, you can count on me being the wimp 🙋 because I'm not acclimated to weather below 55° or above 75°. .
Then right over the hill from us, you're in the heart of the greatest technological industry in the world, Silicon Valley, and just a bit further beyond, it's good old San Francisco and the SF Bay. In reality, this area has everything....no wonder it's one of thee most expensive places to live! 💲🤣
Over the last couple weeks my heart has been hurting for our neighbors in Santa Rosa/Napa from all the devastation of these monster fires. (PLEASE keep praying for Napa/Santa Rosa as it will take years to recover. 😔) Then last week, a fire started in the mountains right above us and containment hasn't been looking good. It's been unusually dry and warm for fall here so we've all been praying like mad. And....wouldn't you know it! Before bed last night and into the early morning - RAIN 🙏. Thank you, God! My prayer is that nature gave the poor firefighters a break and gave this fire a run for it's money! .
So, today I had to stop in one of the beautiful forest parks near my home just to take a moment to appreciate God hearing our prayers, the power of prayer, and this beautiful area we live in. .
