Photo by @PaulNicklen | After a long dive into the cave systems near Tulum, Mexico, we see light from the mouth of the cave; a refreshing sight after so long underground surrounded by water, with only the light from our flashlights to guide us. The structures of these intricate and mysterious caves are unlike any other place in the world; to see them in person is to be reminded of the diverse of beauty on earth. In the Yucatan Peninsula, there are no rivers above ground. Instead, fresh water flows underground through thousands of kilometers of cave systems like this one.
