Oliver (OliPie)

I'm driving Mommy crazy! For the past few days I have been excessively licking my paws! We know it's a sign of allergy but he hasn't been exposed to any new food! It is constant and Mommy is taking me to the vet next week but in the meantime does anyone else have this issue?!😩

@bridgettethebrusselsgriffon

Bridgette had itchy paws in CA when she went on the grass. We wiped her feet with chlorhexidine wipes. Sometimes have Benedryl. Good luck!

@kali_and_company

We use coconut oil !

@harli57_

My pup Jake does it ever so often. I thought it might be a sign of anxiety. It usually happens when it's very warm at night. We then turn the fans on him.

@upton_and_corkie

We do here. It's seasonal allergies with our bully. We wash His paws after walks and do betadine foot soaks and Benadryl at night. Hope you find something that works for you. 💙💙💙

@s.uzie.q

Simon does that when there's mold spores in the air from the leaves!

@monica.l.d.guerrero

I'm love whit him❤️❤️❤️❤️

@karen.ramboldt

@oliver_thepugpig Allergy testing would tell you what foods/ environment he's allergic to, not all vets do the testing but is worth it to know. You can control foods environment is harder to manage. Two of our pugs take daily allergy medicine. Also have a horse that gets allergy shots monthly which I give her. The horse has many food allergies but, is allergic to a lot of our trees which we can't remove. Good luck friend hope the vets can help ❤️🙏❤️

@momeocrofts

Aww poor guy😥

@kissie_and_dacrew

Poppy used to do it after going out in the grass. Wiping her paws off with a baby wipe usually helped.

@pugdogadventures

Bet if you look between the pads it's red and inflamed. Monistat and a bit of cortisone There actually is a vet prescriptive ear... yep ear drop tresaderm that treats yeast has a cortisone and antibiotics That is great to keep around. Dry paws well. Zyrtec half a tab too! Use socks. See @lulu_trixiepix page as Lulu also just treated for same. Good luck

@itsmaxpugcrew

I hope you solve that problem.

@pixiebellepug

Definitely try wiping them after being outside & we take Zyrtec or Apoquel once daily. It helps.

@itsageorgelife

I gets seasonal allergies to da grass and trees in da fall ands my silly Person always forgets about its until I start lickings my paws! Da vet gives me Vanectyl-P ands it goes away still next year!!!

@archies_pugbrothers

What does everyone wipe their paws with ?? Baby wipes ?

@fetchingcrochet

Bronson gets itchy this time of year. try wiping his paws when he comes in from being outside.

@amandab341

Yes, we give ours Benadryl and prescription allergy pills

@orionlunabowbows

Could be grass allergies

@rcthegreatone

Clemente does this all the time. He has actually had allergy testing done and all of his allergies are to tree/ grass pollens and dust mites! He takes two Benadryl a day and he has allergy drops that help some, but I still have trouble with him licking his feet.

@oliver_thepugpig

@zigglerandsummer I'm going to look into an allergy test!

@oliver_thepugpig

@gizzy_puggsburgh no he's not on any meds now because it's not constant... but for the past week it's been nonstop!

@gwentheblackpug

Soak your paws!

@indyandbatman

Hope you feel better

@official_lkhamilton

Grass made one of our dogs bite & lick her feet until she bled herself sometimes.

@gizzy_puggsburgh

Does Oli take anything now ? Gizzy takes both Apoquel & Chlorpheniramine 4 Mg Tabs (like benedryl) you can buy the latter in drug stores or 800-pet meds. Might take his itchy away.

@poochiemayne

Could be a fungus on the grass. Could be a yeast infection, too. If Benadryl doesn't work, I've heard homemade coconut oil treats are good. Good luck!!!

@sami_1021

Omg... I am taking Louie on Wednesday. Same thing! I feel like he is allergic to the air at this point! So depressing. Good luck.

@kimgoss_rn

He can have 1mg of adult benadryl per pound. So if he's 26 lbs he can have 26 mg 2-3 x a day

@bcecil531

@oliver_thepugpig And that's never a good thing with a pug!! 😂😂🐷

@farmboyngoatgirl

Yes, Toulah has itchy skin allergies too. We used benadryl (@1 tablet 2×s daily), septiderm V skin care lotion (daily) and septiderm-v shampoo(twice a week). If the skin is broken I recommend using vetericyn. I found that for Toulah, sometimes her allergies to food take a while to develop. For now, she's been good and has not had any reactions. But, we have to be very careful with what we feed her.

@savvykimberly

@lindsayjuliette chickie and Charlie

@zigglerandsummer

@oliver_thepugpig we did an allergy test and it came out to $200 but our vet insurance covered it. Ziggler does that mostly because he has food allergies. The test told us everything he was allergic to and he has been on Apoquel ever since. Good luck❗️🙏🏻🖤

@jettsib

@oliver_thepugpig she's 9 we think! Young face tho 😆

@oliver_thepugpig

@jettsib 🤦‍♀️ oh yeah, there's an age cap! I forget because looks so young !😍😂

@jettsib

@oliver_thepugpig really? I just assumed with her condition and age it would be so hard?!!

@oliver_thepugpig

@jettsib you can still get health insurance! It won't cover pre existing conditions but anything new will be covered.

@jettsib

@oliver_thepugpig we don't have pet insurance 😠 too late now cuz she has a pre existing condition! Not sure there's an actual name but if you just ask the vet about complete blood work allergy testing I'm sure they'll know.
