photo by: @renaeffendiphoto // In Maramures, Romania I observed traditional agrarian practices and culture still persisting in the modern age. I was told by this elderly lady, who worked hard all day making hay for her horse "This is our cycle of life. We are taking care of the animals and in return they are taking care of us". Silly String Celebration | Photograph by Bobby Ellis (@bobbydellis)
“Trinity Flora celebrates with her teammates after finishing second in a local pee-wee softball tournament. Yes, you read that correctly, this is a celebration over a second-place finish,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Bobby Ellis. “I normally try to follow the winners of a tournament, but a parent told me that this team was going to have a silly string fight no matter how the game ended, so I took a chance and went with them.”

“Excellent image. Great job getting close and filling the frame with the moment. Also, good instinct on following your gut. It definitely paid off.” — @sfchronicle staff photographer Scott Strazzante (@scottstrazzante). This photo was submitted to our “Exploring Community” assignment, curated by Scott Strazzante.

Photo by @FransLanting A rainbow adds a touch of softness to a blustery squall that whipped up the waves off South Georgia Island, but for the millions of seabirds that call this frigid island in the Antarctic home, strong winds are just fine, because they are expert gliders. This giant petrel is one of them, but it’s the legendary albatrosses that are truly masters of the wind. To see them up close follow me @FransLanting and @ChristineEckstrom.

Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPtwinning
Ever looked up to realize you’re coincidentally wearing the same outfit as your BFF or co-worker? This weekend, the goal is to capture moments of shared likeness that make you smile.
Create your own. This assignment is not just for people who look alike. Show us a close-up of matching nail art or the details of a collaborative art project.
Observe the natural world. Plants and insects are incredible mimics. Photographing them in their surroundings can bring an added layer of surprise.
Be open. Twinning isn’t all about obvious sets; objects and architecture can resemble people and animals. For example, your neighbor’s bush may perfectly mirror your poodle’s haircut.
Make sure you’re ready. Moments of twinning may be fleeting. As they say, pics or it didn’t happen!
PROJECT RULES: Please add the #WHPtwinning hashtag only to photos and videos taken over this weekend and only submit your own visuals to the project. If you include music in your video submissions, please only use music to which you own the rights. Any tagged photo or video taken over the weekend is eligible to be featured next week.
