DogsOf Shelters

ATTENTION FLORIDA! Meet Bailey. Her owners are moving overseas and cannot take their sweet girl along. They are looking to rehome her. Bailey is an 8-year-old female terrier mix who is in perfect health and is current on all vaccinations and shots. Bailey loves to sleep, play, and going for walks on the beach. Bailey has been with her family since she was 4 months old when they rescued her from a shelter in California. According to her family, Bailey “has been a wonderful part of our family and is so forgiving/tolerant of our two young children. Please contact us if you think you could add Bailey to your home and heart. This could be a long term adoption of our girl or a forever home as we’re not sure if we’ll be overseas for many years or not.”
Contact Kristin at 828-674-1049 for more information on Bailey.

@maritza_64

@missmandaxiii For real, how shameless!

@maritza_64

@elembekay I'm in shock here too!

@maritza_64

@53bia They probably are up for adoption too! Unbelievably cold hearted, ugh!!

@mandaxbean

"This could be a long term adoption for our girl," yeah, no shit. You think someone's just going to take in your dog until you get back and decide you want her again?

@bear.goberian

I’m a shelter dog!!! Rescued last year

@shell_strolle

Augh people suck

@derposaurusrex

If I lived in FL I'd take her 😞

@maureenshap

They could take her overseas if they really wanted to. Dogs should surrender their owners!

@maureenshap

Awwww, sweet. I'm gonna tell my neighbors in PD as they lost their pup about a month ago ❤️❌⭕️

@_miss.monica

8 years of dedication and love and they are tossing her aside like a piece of trash. I can't stand shit like this. Stupid owner surrenders. Karma is a bitch and it's coming for you.

@mewanderlust

DON’T MOVE. People always lacking on commitment #smfh

@tristantheschnoodle

Agree. I miss my home in Australia but since moving is stressful on animals, am living in hell until they both die. This is a commitment I made when I rescued them both and I will never understand how people can just up and leave when it's convenient.

@pammrene

I wouldn’t move if I couldn’t take my dog!

@elembekay

This is so upsetting. Have this dog for 8 YEARS and now bring to a shelter BC ur moving. Ur the only family she’s ever known. Disgraceful.

@memoirs.of.marina

@silviaboscolo85 I think that's a little harsh, but if they're taking their kids along, there's NO reason they can't take the dog. Even millibars families have found ways in the past, so I agree there's NO reason a dog is left behind other than careless owners

@traveldiva4411

When you adopt a pet...they are your family...forever...this is heartbreaking...shame on them...praying the next family gives her a real furever home

@mariposacottage

it's possible they are in the military and are not allowed to bring this pet with them.

@kgeiss11

Do you have a family to adopt ? I live in northern ca will take this girl 🐶😘

@cmcree123

When you get pets they are supposed to be forever.... appalling

@albathistles

I don’t understand this one having moved internationally 3 times taking 5 cats with us on each move. It’s expensive, time consuming and stressful but they are family and shouldn’t be left behind. I realize I don’t have the full story on this but at the moment can’t think of anywhere you can’t take your pets although perhaps there are some countries that don’t allow it. I just get the feeling this is more for convenience then for any real problems. Very sad but hope I’m wrong

@silviaboscolo85

I can't imagine any valid reason while they could not take their dog with them. People like this should really not care for any animal, because they lack any sense of responsibility.

@greyfoxco

First of all, no one knows the circumstances so don't judge. There are countries/places that don't allow pitbull type dogs. That being said, IF these people are military try Dogs on Deployment, which can foster military dogs for a long period of time. Best of luck to this family!

@soozmcc

@kgordon513 It DOES matter. What if the country to which they’re being posted has a long quarantine period? What if they’re going to a place that’s inhospitable or even dangerous to dogs? What if the housing to which they are assigned does not allow dogs? And what if saying no to any such posting would impact that person’s job in a negative way? WE DONT KNOW —Therefore we should not judge. #empathy #compassion #noabsolutes

@53bia

🇸🇪 Are You going to take the other Children with You ???!!? 💔 Hugs to the sweet Girl 🤗💗🐾🤗💗

@53bia

💔🇸🇪 🙏 How can anyone leave You? It is a family member...a child... Don't leave the Little Sweetie.! You must take her with You. They have passports so they can travel. So why left her behind ??! Sending love and luck to the Little Cutie from Sweden😘💓🐾💗💗💗💗💗

@kauai1962

@susiesseniordogs maybe a post from you could get her re-homed?

@pj_coffeewithgoats

That face says it all! Find a way to take her with you. Make it happen!

@made_in_canada

Heartbreaking 😭

@kgordon513

@soozmcc it doesn't matter. You don't abandon family

@soozmcc

@kgordon513, the post doesn’t reveal where the family is going or why. So the rest of us are really in no position to judge them.

@emcshef

No matter the circumstances, don't do this to your sweet girl!!

@princhita

Who could leave a child behind?!!!
