Unsung Hero: My Cousin Gabe | Photograph by Rex Jones (@rexjonesphoto)
.
“Without arms or legs, my cousin Gabe Adams (@no_limbs_) has already accomplished more than what most people ever will,” writes Your Shot photographer Rex Jones. “As a motivational speaker, he talks about excelling without limits, and how he has continued to achieve his goals with arms or legs. I wanted to photograph him in a location that portrayed him in a place where most people would not expect him to be, to visually emphasize his overall message of not letting a handicap stop him.”

Inspired by the @natgeochannel series, “The Long Road Home,” that relives the ferocious ambush the American First Cavalry Division endured in Sadr City, Iraq in 2004, @natgeoyourshot is launching a new assignment called “Unsung Hero,” curated by @natgeo photographer Matt Moyer (@mattmoyerphoto). Matt is inviting you to share who is your hero, and more importantly, why? Who lifts you up, inspires you, protects you, even saves you?
