“Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:1-5, NIV). Satan and the powers of darkness still use tactics of confusion and half-truths (still lies) to discredit God to us, to successfully cause us to second guess God and His Word, to call what is evil good and what is good evil [Isaiah 5:20].
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12, NLT). The evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world roam about seeking whom they may destroy, roam about looking for open vessels to spread their lies and confusion. Their tactics can be intentionally subtle and can be as simple as replacing a word.
By substituting the word – abortion – for the word murder – millions upon millions have been deceived and easily confused.
But God says plainly, “You must not murder.” (Exodus 20:13, NLT). The enemy only lies, confuses, twists words and replaces them, all to discredit God the way he did with Adam and Eve, still recycling his tricks and schemes over and over again, and humankind falls for them again and again. All of us have. /////// Prayer
Father, I pray that I get to know You and Your Word more intimately, so I am not tossed by every wind and doctrine and every lie of this world, so I can stand on Your Word and plain truth and boldly say, “Get behind me Satan,” and cause the enemy to flee from me and mine with Your holy, timeless, and eternal Word. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
