Short stroll it's the last weekend of short walks and we can finally go back to our regular walk schedule. On another note while waiting at the light there was a known dog that walked behind us caught him off guard and he did a quick lunge but realized something and went back to heel #jimmypinkpaws #dogvideo #video #dogbehaviour #saturdaystroll #walkingdownthestreet #walkyourdog #prettydayintheneighborhood #reactivedogsofinstagram #reactivityisweird #doghumaninteraction #doghumanbond #imnotscary #workwithyourdog #dogintraining #pitbullgram_ #pitbulladvocate #pitbullintraining #buzzfeed #dogtraining #mydogandme #mydogslife #nbndog
@companionstokyo Our struggle with his reactivity is towards other intact males otherwise he has great leash manners. At the park he's great with friendly dogs but if they are unfriendly his tolerance level decreases and he can become defensive. He's nervous and anxious in new settings and can be neophobic towards novel objects But oddly enough he isn't afraid of thunder or fireworks like I expect a nervous/anxious dog would be prone to which I am grateful for. We adopted him at 8 weeks and we probably over socialized him and put him in terrible situations (bullied by other dogs) and probably he comes from a family with bad genetics because his brother suffers from similar nervous/anxiety issues.
I only saw attention directed backwards one time but for the rest nice and relaxed body language. Yes I have worked wit aggression. I unfortunately saw some fear aggression in the rescued adopted street dogs when I lived in Taiwan. Not knowing where your journey started with Jimmy I sense you have comed very far.
@companionstokyo thank you he had a very short outburst while waiting at the light. I have a feeling it was Because he thought the passing dog was another dog that he had a negative experience with but quickly realized it was not the same dog. The dog he had a negative experience with was about the same size and was brindle. They say dogs are color blind but I’m sure they recognize patterns very well Have you ever had a reactive dog?
