Hi to all new followers and thank you for sticking around! My name is Tom and this is my Light Sussex ‘Attila the hen’ who tends to live up to her name! If you have chickens, what are their names? Picture inspired by @thegoodlifeainteasy because her chicken selfies are awesome #thatsdarling #pursuepretty #nothingisordinary #chicken #chickensofinstagram #backyardflock #mixedflock #homesteading #backyardfarm #allotment #backyardchickens #lightsussex #backyardpoultrymag #aseasonalyear #aseasonalshift #acolorstory #natureonthepage
The children named our chickens so we have Penny (henny), Red (who is black ) and Nugget
@sarah__lizzy I look old
@creativecountryside was he a bit of a redneck?
Haha brilliant name! We named all our first chickens but my favourite was a cockerel called Jimbob
@gnowangerup_cottage I know sounds like a 70s porn star. My daughter named her though when she was tiny so I could hardly say no
Fabulous shot! I have Bwian the cockerel, then my hens are called Cleo, Lavender, Honey, Bluebell and Peaches
@gnowangerup_cottage yes she does!
@charissharpe oh thanks! Attila does look good!
@seasonalists short sh*t aw thanks I will do!
@suffolkramblings all mine are named with puns!
@pheasantpluckerandson duckie haha just to confuse things!
Love this portrait Tom!
We are currently (and temporarily) chickenless, do to a cross-country relocation. I miss having them terribly. Our best chickens, over the years, have been named Dusty, Sailtail, Danny, and Short-Sh*t. (He was a very alpha bantem rooster.) Keep posting pics of your birds; they are a bright spot for me :)
We have Louie (named after a friend’s child) Fluffy, Cheepy & Chickoletta. Until recently we also had Duckie (named after one of the guinea pigs, obvs )
I love a good name pun!! (My neighbours call all theirs by the same name and go through the alphabet each time they get a new batch. They had the Rowenas and now they’re on the Sheilas!)
@asliceofsuffolk nameless lap bantams..it’s a travesty
My in laws have bantams and remain nameless! Poor things. Although, they allow them to come into the kitchen for lap cuddles so pretty well cared for x
@jennywrenslens ah the innocence of youth
@gnowangerup_cottage lol! She's only 10 and thankfully blissfully unaware of the rest of the phrase!
@norfolkgirl7 thanks! I misread that first time I saw it
@forestfinders_patternco well that’s your fault for letting a 2yr old name them
Lovely chick pic
Our 2 year old named ours - Egg, Star, Daffodil & Gumboot
@jennywrenslens atleast she didn’t include the mutha f**k**
@tinytrowels I have both those!!! As well as c-peep-3-0
We have Paloma, Faith Betty and Talullah
I've got Rosey, Libby, the white one and Trudy. Although my boys wanted to called them Princess Layer & Kylo Hen, amongst other star wars related names
Haha! That's the best name for a chicken! We stayed on a farm last year and my daughter named one of the goats Mr Yippeekaiyay.
Finally getting the credit I deserve in this friendship
@kellyrixphotos I had a chuck Norris!
@thedramaticllama can’t question that logic
We had 5:- Chuck Norris and Crispy were the parents then the babies were called Dipper, Nugget and Masala.
