National Geographic Your Shot

My Yosemite Dream | Photograph by Stephen Valera (@srkvalera)
“When I started photography, the first photographer that I admired was Ansel Adams. He was introduced to me by my father, when he handed me his Canon F-1. Since I am from the Philippines, I never had an opportunity to capture Yosemite,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Stephen Valera. “After graduating from law school and taking the bar exams, I finally get to be in the spot where Ansel Adams once created magic. Yosemite was always a dream to me, and now it’s a reality.”

“I agree with Your Shot photographer Joan Rankin Hayes who commented, ‘Wonderful story and image — so glad you finally got to see it and capture it with such beauty!’ I love how you were inspired by Ansel Adams, and then found yourself making your dream a reality. I love it Stephen. I love it. Thank you for sharing.” — @natgeoyourshot Producer David Y. Lee (@davidylee)
