Montana, 2006 // On a beautiful fall day in central Montana, a pair of hunters and their dogs search for pheasants in a vast field rejuvenated by the association Pheasants Forever on some land near Coffee Creek, Montana. The landmark Square Butte can be seen in the distance. I was working on an essay about hunting and how hunting is an absolutely necessary aspect of game management in America. Through licensing it also
provides funding for non-hunting pursuits for bird watchers and for many wildlife refuges.

One of my favorite parcels of public land. I did a solo hunt there with a few years ago. Thanks for shining a positive light on hunting & conservation.

@rafet.hassine

That's a pretty good one. Actually I think your recent photos are really good. I will be waiting for your next photo 😊✋

@carmen.juniper

I love this land. My mom grew up just outside of Coffee Creek (still lives there!) and when you post images from this region, I am reminded of her, my childhood, and my grandparents.

@thereseeverett

Gorgeous!!!!!!

@funkyflygirl

I was just there this week, so tragic how MANY deer carcasses were seen 😢 Dry last summer meant NO grass and HUGE amounts of snow... starvation for thousands. SO sad.

@washabibi7

How did you get so high up?

@philipphoefer
