Amena πŸ“– | UK

These friends will be accompanying me on my travels over the next couple of weeks. We leave for Yorkshire on Monday for a few days, come back home by the weekend and then leave for Scotland the following week.
I have a thriller, a classic, short stories, non-fiction and literary fiction. Pretty much covered all my bases, cos you know, just in case πŸ˜† I am very much a mood reader in all honesty. I don't really plan my reads, though I am actively trying to pick up at least one of the oldest books on my shelf once a month. PERFECT REMAINS has been waiting patiently for a while and @thereaderswardrobe also recommends it. *

What type of reader are you? Do you vigorously plan your reads? Make notes, lists or keep a journal? Or do you go with the flow?

@dreamer.reads

This is a lovely photoπŸ˜πŸ‘ I’m really inlove with your accountβ™₯️

@theclubofbooks

@cook_and_book_club Hehe! That sounds like an idea! πŸ˜‰

@theclubofbooks

@leaelmreads It is working really well for me. I do that during a normal month too so I can read more diverse works. I think it prevents me from feeling slumpy too!

@leaelmreads

I'm a mood reader too! I love your idea of picking books from different genres. I'm really torn about what to bring for my own holiday starting next week.

@cook_and_book_love

I've had perfect remains on my TBR shelf for such a long time, ever since I left copies of it across London for @booksontheunderground should really get on and read it!

@theclubofbooks

@dasience That's a good idea!

@theclubofbooks

@_the_book_bug_ Ditto! Thanks Kathryn ❀️

@theclubofbooks

@bazfiction 100% with you Baz. Not all books provide that feel good/enjoyable factor. It is so important for me to read what is right for me at the time.

@bookspeare

Such a great picture

@books.with.luna

Also I’m 100% a mood reader lol

@books.with.luna

Sounds fun! Have a great time and enjoy your reads 😘❀️

@glenjenreads

I hope you have a great holiday! I don’t plan too much, apart from making sure I read my book club read each month. Then I try to read a mix of what’s already on my shelves, books that have been sent to me from publishers, proofs from work and library books. Hmm how do I fit all those in?! πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

@theclubofbooks

@thereaderswardrobe Thanks honey! You are the best planner so I am sure your weekend away will be great if you book it!

@dasience

I actually plan my reads at the beginning of the month, the flow too but I make sure I balance both

@_the_book_bug_

I go with the flow! Have a great holiday. The weather is set fair! πŸ˜€

@bazfiction

P.S. Have a great couple of trips! Hope you share some photos. 😊

@bazfiction

I am a mood reader, but that doesn’t mean I choose books according to what I’ll find pleasurable in a particular moment. It also means understanding what book I’m ready for at that time. Not all books are delightful, addictive reads – some are dense, slow, and require more patience. Being a mood reader to me is about knowing what I need as much as it is about knowing what I want.

@mybookbath

Have a wonderful time!

@thereaderswardrobe

Enjoy your holiday Amena! I am thinking of booking a short weekend in York for my boyfriend's birthday!

@theclubofbooks

@ab_reads I've seen your lists. They are MEGA! πŸ˜†

@theclubofbooks

@mybookishreverie I would be the same I reckon! I am SO guided by my mood and what I feel like reading at the time!

@booksandrachel

Some mental lists ....and then, with the flow haha

@mysweetcaro.life

Have fun - nice destinations. I am a mood reader too and always carry a selection of books too.

@theclubofbooks

@busymamabookclub Sounds like a plan that works perfectly. IG and Goodreads works as a great supporting document to keep track!

@theclubofbooks

@bookprint Hehe. Thanks Sara!

@theclubofbooks

@_booksnmusic Outer layer?! LOVE the sound of that!

@ab_reads

I have lots of lists, but I don’t like making notes as I read cause it disrupts the flow πŸ€”

@sophia_stories

Have a lovely time away! I am also definitely a mood reader - sometimes a book just doesn’t work at a particular time in your life; but later on it might be perfect. I like that we as readers bring so much to a book. Reading is never ever passive πŸ–€

@theclubofbooks

@bookish_inclinations I hope the fiction you pick up wows you! Good luck at the institute as well πŸ’›
