Today at 7 p.m. I‘m going to teach ashtanga instead of the usual class in studio52 lennestr.
It is far from me to want to convert someone - this is an alternative in the holiday season.
I jointed Susannes class yesterday with her topic ‚trying of no judgement or comparison‘ - and with this intention i‘d like to bring this wonderful healing sequence closer to ‚YOU‘..
Ashtanga is a dynamic, vigorous practice that uses ujjayi (special breath), bandha (inner lock), dristis (concentration points) and vinyasas (breath-synchronized motions) to flow through the first series (the yoga chikitsa, yoga therapy, to align and detoxify the body and mind) - of course this needs time, and we develop everything in a calmfully healthy way in the vinyasa krama style (step by step). Ashtanga means 8 - the eight limbs of ashtanga are in simple words:
1. 5 yamas (ahimsa non-violence, Satya truthfulness, asteya non-stealing, brahmacharya abstinence, aparigraha non-greed, non-hording)
2. 5 niyamas (saucha purity, santosha satisfying, tapas discipline, svadhyaya studying of holy books and selfstudy, ishvarapranidhana devotion, dedication
3. Asanas
4. pranayama
5. pratyahara sensory withdrawal
6. Dharana concentration
7. dhyana meditation
8. samadhi enlightenment
