I'm Bursting with pride because my sister in law Sylvia and brother Kiren are opening their first standalone @bellybao restaurant today in newtown.
Sylvias creativity and genius has found new ways of exploding out of belly bao- she's been in the kitchen with new Flavours, pushing the boundaries of fried chicken and salted egg yolk..there's a whole heap of new insanely delicious surprises alongside beloved favourites dating as far back as our first pop up market stall.
The place is designed inspired by our tropical south East Asian backgrounds, hot hawka centres in Singapore- palm tree lined beach eateries in Vietnam. And our dads shirts when they immigrated to Australia in the late 70s 80s. Channeled by @siwheeldon in paint.
Uncle, syl and aunty have been hand making all the Bao's in preparation for our opening tonight. Uncle has been cooking and handymanning. Syl has been in the kitchen creating wonders. And My brother has been handyman, sign put up man, designman, PR man, accounts man, carry table upstairs man. Because small businesses man. You need an every man.
I'm so proud of them. They're a great amalagamation of what it feels like to be a new Australian; a bit your parents ethnicities, a bit Aussie, a bit like you can achieve whatever you want in this great country #keepsydneyopen

RELIGIOUS, POST APOCALYPTIC, EXALTATION. If you somehow can- go and experience the frenzy, fervor, euphoria, of Saint Pablo yourself- I was mind blown.. it was both the best musical and religious experience I've ever had.
