Type of runners that I met today:
1. True champs: very fascinating to look at. They are not just running, they are racing with 180 heart beats per minute, every movement of their muscles effective and in order. With strong legs, comparatively wide chest, and a particular look at their face. Feels like they don’t hear or see anyone around, with their eyes fixed on the pass.
2. Competitors: they let champs do the champ thing, and then they start their game of multiple challenges. You might wonder what is left When the goal is not about coming first at the finish line? Well, beating your own time, running upwards or downwards faster than a stranger next to you, cutting corners, drinking as much free water as possible along the way, and the list goes on.
3. Wonderers: they obviously don’t race. They give high-fives to competitors, volunteers, supporters and everyone else who takes it. They pose to photographers, admire every leaf along the way, and enjoy the process.
4. Provers: they run because they can. When they can’t run, they walk. Their race makes a point. Usually they are greeted by their family, friends and supporters at the finish line, and apprised the most.
May be there are hundred types of other runners with their million reasons to love running. I respect and admire everyone. P.S. Thank you @almatymarathon #almatymarathon for bringing us together, and for the incredible support team.
