“The five-storied pagoda of Arakurayama Sengen Park located in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi has become popular for both foreign and Japanese tourists because we can see the pagoda, Mt. Fuji and cherry blossoms symbolizing Japan at the same time,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Takashi Nakazawa, “It gets very crowded when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. When you see this scene once, your visions of Mt. Fuji change forever.” This photo was published on the June/July 2018 National Geographic Traveler cover as part of @natgeoyourshot’s “Trip That Changed My Life” assignment — and was featured in Your Shot’s Best of 2018 gallery. “There’s a beautiful delicacy to this image, a sense of movement and a mood of anticipation. While it’s an exciting photograph that captures Mount Fuji, the cherry blossoms, and the pagoda in great detail, the image also has a sense of romance and optimism. Above all it’s the feeling this image conveys that speaks to me. I want to be there, in that moment, to feel the air and float away.” — @natgeotravel Editor in Chief George Stone (@georgewstone)

Toru Tsuchie (@choppe_tt) describes himself as “a craftsman who makes wagashi,” Japanese confections that are often served with tea. “I make traditional Japanese sweets. However, I think it is also important to make sweets tailored to the times. I consciously make both,” says Toru, who lives and works in Izumo, Japan.

Photo by Cory Richards @coryrichards // #sponsored by @IncredibleIndia // Exploring Ladakh is more like time travel than anything else. It pulls you backward in to a quieter time and place that is both un-wanting and arresting. New roads end and take you down old roads, which in turn give way to trails, and then nothing at all. It’s in those places that the full beauty unfolds, awakened by its quiet vastness. Stakna Gompa rises above the Indus Valley dwarfed by the mountains of the Leh District, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir State, Northern India. The monastery was founded in the 16th century and was named ‘Stakna’, translated as ‘Tiger’s Nose’ because of the shape of the hill upon which it was built. It was founded by a Bhutanese monk and scholar, Chosje Jamyang Palkar. // From mountain tops to seacoasts, India is filled with breathtaking landscapes, amazing wildlife, and untamed experiences you’ll never forget. Plan your adventure of a lifetime now in #UntamedIndia.

“Last Christmas I gave you my heart... Tula, our rescue, under last years Christmas tree. It was her first Christmas and she was lucky to spend it with her big new family together. I think she knew how lucky she was and is. Looking forward to the holidays and all the cuddles she will get.” writes @wildwildpack

Last month, I had an honor to shoot an artist singer @mrjacobbanks in Paris during an afternoon in Montmartre.
The first time that I listened his music, I was surprised by his tremendous voice.
Tonight, I'm excited to see this man in concert at Le Trianon in Paris #makeportraits
