Mei Gui Hua · Rose Bud · 玫瑰花 // The rose is the universal symbol of love and who doesn’t need a little boost the day before Thanksgiving.
For centuries, Mei Gui Hua has been used for medicinal purposes in China. It is warm, slightly bitter, and sweet. When combined with other herbs, it is used to help relieve constraint in the chest/ epigastrium, promote the movement of qi and blood, lift depression, regulate menstruation and relieve premenstrual breast tenderness.
We also enjoy steeping rose buds alone or adding them to other teas when we want to boost our spirits. We have enjoyed blends of rose buds with herbs such as ginger, camomile, peppermint, or calendula. And, if you prefer teas on darker end of the spectrum, Oolongs and Blacks add the prefect contrast to the sweetness of the rose buds.
Add some Mei Gui Hua to your tea next time you need a little emotional relief and support. ✨
