We’re not really big fans of mala hotpot (麻辣火鍋) - despite our penchant for chilli, it’s still far too spicy for our liking - which is why our first ever visit to @haidilao_hotpot was just a couple weeks ago. But we can see why it’s so incredibly popular - the food is fresh, and more importantly it’s such an incredibly social eating experience!
[台灣好介紹Taiwan thumbs up] One of the best Mala hot pot meals I’ve ever had in my life. Their 2-in-1 pot features free-flow Mala spicy soup with duck’s blood and firm tofu on one half, and a more delicate chicken and pickled cabbage soup on the other half. The service is discreet but tip-top (unlike some other big chain’s in-your-face intrusive service), and the food is top-quality and reasonably priced.
