The John Sowden House in Los Feliz just hit the market for $4.7m. Built in 1926 by Lloyd Wright, Frank Lloyd Wright’s eldest son, the Mayan-themed home utilizes a design incorporating patterned concrete blocks similar to those of Frank Lloyd Wright’s 'textile block’ houses. From 1945 to '50, the house was the residence of Dr. George Hodel, a Los Angeles physician who was - and continues to be - a primary suspect in the infamous 1947 Black Dahlia murder. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, “The Jaws House” (as it’s sometimes called) was used as a film location in Martin Scorsese's "The Aviator" to depict the home of Ava Gardner.
