Last on this airport theme, I remember as a kid on our first trip to France and suddenly finding myself in one of the moving sidewalk tubes at Charles de Gaulle. It was like stepping onto the set of a science fiction film. Paul Andreu's brutalist building was all round and tubular. It felt exciting, certainly made the travel experience far more enjoyable. Who cares if there's a flight delay when I had a playground straight out of Star Trek? Andreu has for 40 years now been known as the foremost airport design experts. North America needs to up its game.
