Box jumps are a beautiful exercise. This is not how they should be used. They should be used to reinforce triple extension with the intention of floating onto the box - not landing in a squat position. A max jump effort does correspond to strength, however should be done through a Counter movement jump or squat jump where relative strength index is measure. ——————————————————————————

#gym #tip 👉🏻 ¿Cómo calcular tu RM?
-
La Repetición Máxima (RM) es el máximo peso que podemos levantar en un ejercicio, realizando una única serie de una sola repetición. Intentar añadir más peso o hacer una repetición más te llevará a fallo muscular, es decir, que los músculos no sean capaces de realizar el movimiento completo del ejercicio debido a una fatiga en el Sistema Nervioso Central (SNC).

Una de las formas para calcular la RM consiste en realizar series de una repetición añadiendo progresivamente más carga en cada una, hasta que el realizar una serie más o añadir más kilos a la barra implicaría llegar al fallo muscular. Este es uno de los métodos más precisos para calcular la RM, aunque siempre se debe realizar con la ayuda de un compañero para evitar accidentes en caso de que se llegase a fallar la serie.

Si quieres calcular tu RM con este método voy a sugerirte la siguiente estructura con el fin de que puedas rendir al máximo en ese momento de tu entrenamiento:

Calentamiento general → puede ser aeróbico durante unos 10 a 15 minutos en Elíptica. Además puedes añadir un trabajo específico de CORE, como por ejemplo: la Plancha Frontal. La idea de esta entrada en calor es activar completamente el cuerpo.

Aproximaciones → series de una o cinco repeticiones donde irás añadiendo más peso en cada una hasta llegar a una carga en la que teóricamente tienes mucha probabilidad de llegar al fallo muscular.

Serie Máxima → en esta última serie es importante no llegar al fallo muscular y que el compañero no te ayude a subir la barra; de ser así, esa repetición no se considerará una RM válida porque tu ayudante habrá realizado parte del esfuerzo que tú tenías que hacer.

Tip final: no calcular la RM en más de dos ejercicios por día aunque sean grupos musculares distintos, ya que la fatiga en el SNC producida por el fallo muscular disminuirá el rendimiento en los siguientes ejercicios.

At this point in the summer begins running in the dark! Be safe and wear flashing lights and a headlamp when needed. Be aware of your surroundings as well. Today’s route had a road that is dark for a bit, kind of creepy and exhilarating at the same time. 140kg x 1 flat bench @ 75kg BW. Absolutely stoked I can still push this weight, because a 1rm aint a 1rm if you can guarantee you can do it everytime.

It's always humbling to reflect on progress, and considering it took me almost a year to bump up 5kg, it was progress nonetheless!
If you find you're stuck in a rut like I was, reflect on your diet, and reflect on if you're REALLY giving it your all at the gym!
